Re priority signings: I don’t think there’s much point getting left back cover in on loan on transfer deadline day. That was something we needed 1st January due to Pickering’s injury but it’s almost too late now

Pickering won't be back for ages and Beck will be going back in the summer. If they want someone like that Small lad at Charlton, now would be a smart time to buy him and integrate him into the squad.

Y'know if we were run professionally and all that.

I don’t even think that. We are the stripey shirt that you bought on holiday when you were pissed that you’ve hidden at the back of the drawer so you don’t have to look at it anymore.

My t-shirts don't tend to charge me £20m a year to exist in my drawer.

Fraud. Tax evasion.

Doubt it. As a Premier League Club we would have been really useful as a global advertising vehicle for their "brand".

Since we dropped out of it due to their own mismanagement we've been no real use to them, in fact quite the opposite and their interest has waned accordingly.

Apart from after getting promotion from League 1 when it seems they briefly got excited but Mowbray quickly managed to pour cold water over any of that nonsense.

I imagine it's still a bit of an interesting one-liner to throw out from time-to-time.

'Oh, we aren't just chickens and property, we also own a football club. Premier League? No, but we are a division above that team the guys in Hollywood own.'

"Oh yeah I've heard about that. They fucking despise you and your kin in Lancashire, right?"

Not surprising.

New Mon, would have been another body other than Eustace pressing for new players and might have even known about suitable candidates somewhere within our budget.

Far too risky.

Edit: We'll appoint someone after the window closes when it's too late and from Waghail's point of view they can't do any damage - until summer at least.

Even if my interest had waned in something, if it's costing me a reported £20m a year to exist and is a general PR nightmare, I'd appoint the best people possible and instruct them to run it accordingly.

Some would say that's what they've done with Suhail Shaikh as he's cut costs to the bone - but it's still a PR nightmare.

Or, y'know, I'd sell it at a loss and be done with it.

There's clearly another nefarious reason as to why they continue to hold onto the club and strangle the life out of it. The ongoing Indian court case suggests it's fraud and tax evasion.

There’s got to be something they don’t want to be in the public domain. Putting us on the market and accepting what ever low bid came for the club would solve their problems in a stroke otherwise.

Yes, it was Tony Mowbray who stopped them from otherwise putting all of their efforts into promotion.

Obviously a rumour, but maybe another thing to question on in general added to an already unfortunately lengthy list, @K-Hod what has happened to the vacant chief scout role after Park left?

It feels like it's stubbornness and a sunk cost fallacy with them now. They don't want to cut their losses because one year we might get lucky and avoid the New Year death spiral. Or maybe we'll produce a whole team of Adam Whartons at some point.

What's especially depressing is that if Eustace did get Rovers up through the play-offs, they probably wouldn't invest the Premier League money. Don't worry about getting relegated with a Derby level of points, we'll have a few years of lovely parachute money after that, and Balaji can impress his mates with a few jolly-ups at Anfield at the Emirates.

You’d think with the ridiculous turnover of back room staff we’ve had someone would have come out and spilled the beans on the shambolic goings on behind the scenes at the club, but they never seem to.  Are we just giving them a wedge of cash to keep quiet upon their departure? JDT especially seemed more likely than most to let rip, suppose it needs a journo to interview him who has an interest in Rovers though

I have thought that time after time. The only one who came remotely close to calling them out properly was JDT although Lambert to some extent did speak quite loudly with his actions.

Would explain the lack of a transfer budget if that's the case given how many they would have had to buy the silence of

I'm as bad as anyone with the 'why?' questions, but there is always the possibility they're inherited wealth land rich chicken farmers who's core business is propped up by good employee operators loyal and working on the start the older Venky initiated.  The yearly loss figure is ~1% of their worth.

A quick Google tells me theres no inheritance tax in India so it's not even a means to pass money internationally to the younger one who lives here

By his own admission no less.

Lambert negotiated a get out clause before he even came and couldn't speak highly enough about them when he left.

Lambert was only in it for Lambert.

Anyone reasonably high profile will presumably be subject to an NDA.

He was, and he wasnt and isnt a very good manager, but which managers arent in it for themselves?

Did he speak highly of the owners?

I tend to agree. Lambert talked the talk, apparently even observed Gardiola training sessions, but was, ultimately,  shit.

Yep upon leaving. Didn't want to earn a reputation within the game as a troublemaker I guess.

The trick is to target Suhail specifically, things happen when he’s mentioned - JDT was gone less than a week after mentioning his name in the press, if I remember correctly.

As much as I despise Waggott, it all goes through Suhail, he calls the shots.

Suhail is deliberately titled below Waggott in the hierarchy too, likely an effort to keep the heat off him and to keep his name out of our mouths.

Fuck the pair of them, but we need to turn the heat up on Suhail Shaikh, AKA Suhail Pasha.

They both need both barrels but agreed.
