January Transfer window

Let's go back to Waggott's book of excuses , aka his 'update' statement released last week, may be Louie Barry wasn't the 'right type' of character for our special squad. Maybe they don't want to endanger the 'togetherness' of the squad by bringing external elements into it. Maybe Hull didn't get the memo about it being a 'limited' January window.

Maybe Hull were prepared to pay the  necessary to get their target and a quality addition in the building now rather than p1ssing away another week or two haggling and with it jeopardising the season.

Maybe Hull actually want to sign decent players instead of owners and a board desperate to hide behind every excuse going

So why are Hull 19th in the table and we are 7th ?

The evidence against the owners/waggot/Pasha is more damning this window than previously. Even those who won’t criticise the owners are going to struggle to excuse this. As we tumble down the table whilst other teams below us outspend us comfortably it makes it look even worse for them. If there is no restriction on them spending from the Indian courts or FFP and they never say no to signing a cheque then what’s the issue? We have received £40m in transfer fees so where’s the money gone? If the issue is simply that they don’t want to spend any money then why won’t they sell us? I struggle to see how they can possibly try to dress this up as anything other than gross neglect.

There isn't a court in the land that wouldn't have convicted them several years ago. How much more evidence do we need that they're asset stripping and leaving us to rot on the vine?!

Because they made a poor managerial appointment in Walter whereas we got lucky with Eustace. Also they had a huge turnover in players last summer.

They're rectifying it by bringing in quality.  We're 7th because Eustace has worked miracles but with the lack if quality and depth it was never going to last. I can guarantee in a few weeks Hull will be only a few points off rovers

Not even a gamble we can afford to spend big and be well in FFP, they won’t get this option again for a lot of years, aging squad bulked out by loans and all sellable assets gone. Years of sticking plasters on it with a huge amount of luck in Szmodics and Diaz

That's the top and bottom of it.

Our recruitment SHOULD centre around identifying which players we think would really improve the team or squad roughly within our budget and go out and get them. Pay a little bit extra if necessary if we think he's the right one.

Instead the search seems to centre around not going beyond a certain price rather than the specific suitability  of the player for us, as a result of which we always miss out on our initial targets and nearly always end up on our C or D list (at best) towards the end of the window. And even then we never seem willing to pay the asking price which more often than not leads to a Mexican standoff and us missing out leaving us in last chance saloon scatting about for anyone left on loan in the last day or two.

Been going on for years but particularly noticeable this window given our dire need to recruit at the start of the .month and the fact any funding shouldn't have been a problem in light of the recent sales.

I reckon if someone bids £1 million for Pears they will take the money.

You wouldn't put it past them. His "replacement" is already in the building and is clearly far worse so it's just the sort of bat shit crazy move they'd make just in case our chances haven't been destabilised enough already.

All comes down to the owners and the lack of money. Dont trust the people negotiating by any means but its little wonder we have to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

I bet it isn't the owners telling Waggott to put deals at risk and cut corners by haggling over a couple of hundred thousand Euros or so.

They've put in around £200m .How on earth are they "asset stripping" ?

I think they are asset stripping to try to get some of that money back.  Surely they’ve made a big loss overall but if they had the clubs interests at heart and not their wealth then they would have sold up already.
