Pears has had a good season and probably made less mistakes than any other player.

As we know, a goalkeeping error is highlighted 100 times more than an error elsewhere on the pitch.

Somone on here was blaming him for the second goal on Saturday, which is a bit of a stretch.

He's kept us in games and won th for us and it does go under the radar.

Remember players, we're not doing new contracts, not signing new players and if there's a sniff we can make money on you then you're out the door whether you like it or not.

Anyway, PNE Friday and QPR Tuesday.  Give it your best shot, and for the injured amongst you just tough it out for us

Your opening sentence there takes me back to the Steve K*an days. That's what this is beginning to feel like again. The difference being, Eustace is a decent guy that wants to win and the squad is on board with him. He's nothing like that prick.

What has changed at the club upstairs since those days, though? I'd argue nothing has. They might bring out a few new public facing suits now and then, but the same old problems remain. Unbelievable that almost 15 years on, the same old shit is still repeating itself. Fans of other clubs often have complaints about their clubs, some of them may be frustrated by a lack of trophies, or a lack of ambition, or in PNE's case, not playing in the top flight for 60 odd years. None of them have experienced this though. This crap has to be felt to be believed. This is an unprecedented shit show, the like of which English football hasn't seen before.

Watched most games this season yeah.

Made a terrible mistake in the last game.

But you said he is terrible.

He did make a mistake at the weekend, in terms of ones costing goals its one of only two or three, plus he has had some scares too. But he has been good this season on the whole, and his mistakes have gone from constant which made him "terrible" last season to occasional.

If you still think he is terrible then you arent acknowledging his improvement.

Selling Pears at this stage in the season after how he has performed this season (regardless of the last match) would be absolutely ridiculous, anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't watch many of the games irrespective of what is claimed.

Had this been last season, my opinion would have been different. We haven't seen enough of this Töth fella to lose our number one.

I call bullshit on the rumours however, if it is true... Dont expect a replacement... 🤣

It's an interesting (ish) thought experiment to guess what could be the bare minimum we get done that will get people congratulating Waggott/Venkys and saying, "See they have backed us after all!"

My guess is one youngish forward prospect with no goals (Kargbo or someone similar) and a last minute loan midfielder (another Clarkson, Morton type).

Neither would solve our glaring weaknesses of reliable goals and pace down the wings. Both would have numpties telling us all to stop criticising and 'give the lad time' as if we've got that luxury.

It's beyond pathetic that a couple with slight potential would probably keep the masses happy when 5 or 6 guaranteed first-team starters are needed to keep us going IMO (GK, possibly LB for the long-term, CM, LW, RW and #9 striker).

Kargbo is a winger with a lot of pace 👍🏻

Usain bolt would be too but I wouldnt have him on the wing, oh hang on, he will probably be better than hedges.

Thanks for that. It never once occurred to me that the name being mentioned all the time wouldn't be a goal-scorer.

Personally, I think goals FAR outweighs any other issue and width is a distant second even though at this point they're all really glaring needs.

No-one could possibly accept no more strikers surely?!

Is he? I am not saying he isnt but fron what I have seen online, most places have him down as a striker and Cesena play 343 apparently so not with out and out wingers.

Someone posted a video in this thread of him. Videos are naturally a players best bits so arent a very good indicator on quality especially against Serie C defences aswell as the likes of Djibouti and similar international minnows. But he didnt seem that fast on it, likes running with the ball clearly. Maybe one similar to Cozier Duberry. But hard to tell from clips like that.

SHOULD be well within our ballpark after all the recent sales shouldn't it?

Sell SS for £9m, bring this guy in for '6m.

That's how it'd work at a normal Club.

I think that's a desperate bid from a team deep in a relegation battle.

Pears is alright, and he's improved beyond what I thought he was capable of. Yeah he makes the odd mistake, but show me a keeper at this level who doesn't.

We know we'd get sweet FA to reinvest, and I don't trust Gestede to pull a rabbit out of the hat, so I'd be totally against selling Pears.

Have we signed anyone? Been busy

Yeh, a player released from relegation bound plymouth and a chap who can't get into a league one side.

I'm half wondering whether there might be more to the Court situation in India than meets the eye. Something that we possibly don't know or aren't being told about.

It's clear that this is the worst it has been for us in a transfer window, where we can barely scrape frees and loans together and we seem to be desperately shifting a few out. Our windows have generally been disappointing under them, but this is really desperate stuff.

'Desperate' is the word that best describes this window. Question is, why? These are supposed billionaires that are apparently free to send funds across 'without impediment'.

Didn't the car salesman recently have to provide a full breakdown of where the funds were going to be used for the Indian Court, before permission was given for that money to be sent here?

Is it possible the Court in India has discovered something else during its investigation and has now decided they can't send anything here at all?

Hence the desperate actions on the ground here as they try to make room for one or two cheap incomings, using club raised funds?

Not for one second am I giving them the Court matter as an excuse. Just a theory as to why this window could be looking at being the worst ever under this lot.

I think it’s really simple…Suhail has said we don’t need to spend.
We’ve brought in money, that’s going towards working capital.
I really don’t think we need complicated explanations TBH.
