A genuine question for you and other posters really.

Seeing as we've seen Jed Wallace's named branded around earlier on, would you rather him or this Kargbo? Both in the similar price range, possibly Wallace a tad cheaper?

Kargbo will be cents on the dollar to Wallace when you factor in wages

No way would Jed Wallace be cheaper

It might be a similar fee if west brom wanted him away but Wallace will be on much more money.

100% I'd be signing Wallace if given the choice.

Wallace won't be leaving now,Mowbray brought him back into the team and he was captain at the weekend

Quite clear that Kargbo is a Gestede name. Doubt Waggott has anything to do with it. Even less likely that he's a player Eustace has identified as the 'top quality' that he said he wanted.

It's another window-dressing signing. Even if he ends up being a good un, he's not going to come in and hit the ground running or immediately adjust to the rigours of the Championship. But it's cheap and an unknown so a few will get themselves excited about it.

Starving the team of fresh players to get them at a cheaper price later in the window is a nonsense strategy. Our players are out on their feet and more than likely playing whilst carrying injuries. No wonder mistakes are being made leading to us dropping valuable points.
If we miss out on the playoffs by a point or goal difference, like we did two years ago, the £200k or so saved on a player will seem very foolish. If we could pay £1M to get in the playoffs at that point we probably would. Obviously that wouldn’t be possible, but in principle we would, so why not pay the premium to get players in at the start of the window so that our momentum is continued and we don’t drop extremely valuable points.
The hierarchy at Rovers are morons without any common sense. In my humble opinion they are merely pretending to care whilst doing and spending the absolute minimum in order to keep the fans from revolting.
Even if, by some amazing chance, they spend a lot of money ( by Rovers standards) on a player/players it will still be poor management because we have lost too many points waiting to get them in.
Venkies and Rovers management want to do everything on the cheap, they have no passion for Rovers at all, it is just a job to them, which is totally unacceptable. We need people in charge who share the same passion as us fans. Sadly this will never happen whilst Venkies are in charge.

Rant over.

I agree but let's remember play offs were never likely. By chance yes but definitely not the intention of the direction of the club. We just about survived last season no thanks to those above but they don't care about promotion or playoffs. If anything I wouldn't be surprised if we aren't getting Jan reinforcements because it will help us stay in top 6. Not paranoid or conspiracy but just know our club and the shit show direction we are under and can imagine it's better for them if we don't get into play offs so anything to hinder, and stay surviving championship, rather than help us get promoted and back to where we should be is unlikely.

You can’t keep just treading water. Other teams aren’t. You either go up or you go down.

The recent purchases of unknown names from overseas that have been suggested have in the main been very poor. Telelovic and Wahlstedt a disaster, Ohashi and Gueye the jury is very much out, Toth hasn't played enough to form a proper opinion. Tronstad being the only success, however playing in the Eridvisie for Vitesse he's played at the highest level of all our European imports so you'd expect him to do relatively well.

Maybe not…but look at what has happened subsequently. The simplest explanation is often the correct one…

I don’t think it even takes any thought at all to come to the conclusion that the Rao’s don’t have any interest in us.
So I don’t understand the surprise that they’re not putting more money in when transfer fees recouped can cover it. (For the first time in their tenure)

I also seem to be the only person on this website who doesn’t want them to put any more fucking money in, or have any other impact or say. Chance would be a fine thing.

Sorry yes wage wise Wallace will be on more but I can't imagine WBA demanding much of a fee, considering they were open to move him out...Things may now of changed since moggers has gone in.

Kargbo has pace and Wallace's 'legs have gone' according to WBA, I would probably opt for Kargbo out of the two - No re sale value on Wallace either.

I am sure Gestede will be next out the door, another patsy for Waggot/Venkys to pin the recruitment disaster on like Broughton last year.

The warning signs were there when Park left a few months back, clearly told there is nothing to spend after a bargain bin summer so why bother running a scouting department.

If we did have targets they would have been secured much earlier in the window.

It is more likely we are waiting to hear from bargain basements at the last minute when agents start getting in touch offering players a club no longer wants or needs.

Shambles, the day Venkys and Waggot leave can't come soon enough.

And the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham certainly aren't going to want to tread water when they come up so it will be even more difficult.

Wallace hasn't even turned 31 yet and if he has it was recently. Much more to his game than being able to run fast

Wallace found himself out of the team at West Brom but he like I said back in the team at the weekend was captain and scored

Wallace is a top championship performer, Kargbo doesn't have great stats in seria b and I don't care about resale value  it doesn't get reinvested.I want to make the playoffs this season

For me and imo for Eustace then there wouldn't be a decision to make it would be Wallace all day long

I think they are trying to get someone else through the door before getting Kargbo in.

We operate on a 1 in 1 out basis.

Also on Kargbo, he will only be used off the bench. No way will Eustace go with him in front of Dolan, Hedges, Weimann etc.

Given the high turnover of our recruitment team, there's every chance he was scouted by Greg's lot at the same time as Telalovic.

Agreed.Kargbo won't be what the manager wants

An unknown body through the door and he be talked up by Gestede in his end of window interview

Some of the stuff I'm reading on fb etc " be a class signing " going off a YouTube clips so some will buy that crap...that we have invested in an exciting talent

There's no indication they're going anywhere for the foreseeable so why on earth would you want that?

That's the sort of thing you'd expect a Burnley fan to say.

Will Kargbo even be any better than Sigurðsson?

Not that I rate Sigurðsson, but he's out of contract at the end of the season. Whether he particularly wants to be here or not, it's in his best interests to put some effort in to strengthen his hand for a good contract elsewhere.

Kargbo really strikes me as a signing for the sake of it. Waggott can say we supported the manager. He's looking to spin than narrative on the cheap, however its pointless if he's poor quality.

Waggots problem is Kargbo is turning out to be more expensive than anticipated. The clubs problems are endless.

As much as Kargbo isn’t a mouth watering signing

he wouldn’t be a ‘for the sake of it’ signing we were close to getting him in the summer meaning he’s been on the radar for a while

as mentioned the other day best judged on performance here - could play well with better players (personally think cantwell needs someone who has the pace to run behind)

alternatively he could be a bust like most/transfers

my main issue with it is that it seems to be a Rudy driven transfer and from the outset Iv said I don’t like that recruitment set up

in beyond the point of anger now more just logging in and checking in hope that the big man upstairs has listened to my prayers lol

Kargo if desired is a signing that should be made if you are bringing better quality in alongside him and give him a chance to bed in ,no pressure on him  if it fails and it turns out he isn't up to it at this level  then not the end of world

As it stands going off the speculation in the media and lack of links with other players it's looking like he is going to be our main and most expensive signing of the window. Its disgraceful
