It’s not if they make the 3 or 4 quality signings that Eustace wants. So, yeah, it’s too late.

Angry_Pirate
So wait, there *was* talk of a team wanting to pay us money for Pears, between £2m and FIVE million pounds, and there were people on here saying we shouldn't do that? Wow. He's been fine, but... WOW. This season is dead in the water. Start Toth, and use the £5m (plus any fictional budget) on the likes of Asgaard, Poku, maybe even Beck? Of course £5,000,000 x 0 is what would get reinvested. Obviously, we knew it was a bullshite link, but saying you wouldn't sell Pears for £2m+ is insanity. He's never going to be worth more than ¼ of that value ever again after this window. Edited January 28 by Angry_Pirate

But the money won’t get spent.
Popular Post JHRover
Money in does one thing and one thing only - help Venkys pay their bills a while longer without the need to use (as much of) their own cash and thus making it easier for them to leave us on the shelf gathering dust and for Waggott and shadow man to cart on without needing to request cash. It certainly ain't going anywhere near a transfer kitty for Eustace that's for sure. Even if they pretended it was it would collapse and then disappear (O'Brien McGuire). So less money brought in the better for me. Lets crank up the financial demands on the Indians, they've had a couple of easy years by flogging the crown jewels and destroying 2-3 promotion opportunities.

It was someone on here who said they'd sell him for £5m I think. If there was any genuine interest I'd imagine the bidding would be starting at around one fifth that. Imo, whatever you think of Pears, if we were to sell our first choice keeper at this stage of the window it'd be a final "fuck you" to the supporters and the coup de grace to this abysmal window.
Backroom Popular Post DE. Posted January 28 Backroom Popular Post Share Posted January 28 If £0 was going to be reinvested of the fictional transfer fee for Pears, why would we, as fans, want to sell our first choice goalkeeper? So that Waggott and Suhail can add it to the list of financial targets met to spend as little as possible whilst bringing in as much as possible?

We're local, he wouldn't have to move, in the playoffs so attractive option. Absolute joke

Popular Post Ghost7
I bet Waggott's on the phone to Fleck to see if he fancies a few minutes against Preston. Absolute joker. Ivanovic keeps scoring for Millwall, including against us. Cost them £3m ... way out of our league. Waggott and Venky's have us lower than Preston in terms of financial clout. Absolutely shameful what they've done to this club since buying it.

Assuming we have the standard year option, we should be looking to tie him down if his form continues for Orient.

callumrovers
It’s all about reducing costs and bringing players through the academy. Last time I checked our turnover to wage ratio was 115%. They want the club to be self sufficient. Over turnover won’t increase astronomically. They need to reduce staffing wages. I guarantee within the next few years the last few “high earners” will be out the door. Won’t bring any quality in because we pay pennies and won’t pay any transfers fees. im my eyes we are solely reliant on the academy and bringing players through which is a massive concern. They won’t take any risks with this business (spend decent money on transfers and wages because there’s no interested anymore. Waggots remit is to increase commercial revenue and turnover. That’s all he cares about. Probably gets a bonus for hitting certain targets, he doesn’t give a shit BRFC. Pashas there to just over see everything. nothing changes until we get new ambitious owners who have a genuine interest in this great club. You have to risk a little in business to make money, Venkys will not do this.

AVE1875
Just been looking at the Cov forums following what a previous poster advised, they seem adamant that we've gone back for BTA for a similar fee that they paid for him 🤔
