January Transfer window

Recommended Posts

Cissoko highlighted more than anyone that Hayden Carter is not a right back when we played them, he tore him to shreds.

He would be a good investment as a young player with lots of potential if we bought him.

As a loan off the back of a serious injury and having not played for months, underwhelming. And no doubt it would be a loan.

Yep, he would be a huge waste of time on a loan IMO.

I bet he would hardly feature, and will definitely get injured again.

There's still time for him to leave this window, I have a sneaky suspicion he might too.

How on earth can it take 12 months of contract discussions, I mean seriously, for an average championship player if they're genuine about signing one?

If Swansea offer anything up to a million he's gone and the best you'll get in replacement is a loan.

2025 Blackburn Rovers......

Isn't it 18 month talks?

We need more than that to finish in the top 6.

Agree to disagree here

Pickering is contracted until 2028 with his option, Carter and Pears 2027.

Ok thanks.

The big worry for me is Brittain, Hyam, Tronstad and Travis all being next summer, I bet you now we don't get any of those sorted on a longer term deal.

All 4 need to be long term contract

Some lad on BlueSky says Cissoko was at the training ground - this the name you've heard?

He played well against us.

Cissoko is out with a groin injury according to Transfermarkt, he's played 32 minutes of football since the 19th of October 2024 😅

Been on the bench lately I think so on the comeback trail. Bit of an odd one, unless it's one that has been lined up for a while.

We don't know that any talks have taken place with Dolan.

All we know is that Waggott has said they have.

You're pretty foolish IMO if you believe something just because Waggott says it or the Venkygraph print it.

They also said that countless other players were in 'talks' for months on end yet it was obvious none of them were staying.

His sister said he'd had talks, make of that what you will like 🤣

A reasonable end to the window for me now looks something like this;

LB - Harry Toffolo (Loan)
CM - Dan Barlaser (Perm - £750k?)
LW - Ibrahim Cissoko (Loan)
LW/ST - Augustus Kargbo (Perm - £1m)
ST - Marcus Forss (Perm - £2m?)

With the money we've brought in, that should be very achievable and not too far out of reach...

Just won't happen though, will it? We'll end up with way worse.

Really hoping for a positive end to the window, though I fully expect we'll be let down!

He's already on loan to Plymouth from Toulouse. Can he be loaned again ? Genuine question

Yeah we could take over his loan if we go to his parent club with I'm guessing a better contribution to what Plymouth are paying.

As long as he did not play for Toulouse this season, yes, although they would need to recall him and send him back out (like we did with Markanday)

Edit - just checked, he has not played for Toulouse this season

That would be an amazing end to the window. However in the world of Pune we'll get Cissoko and Danns on loan.
