€4m bid rejected for striker Willem Geubbels at St Gallen.

Our bid was rejected alongside €6m from Union Berlin and €8m from Luton.

Moving on…

Being linked with anyone and everyone at the moment. Taking that link with a pinch of salt, but wouldn’t be surprised that we bid substantially lower than everyone else 😂

I have a feeling when he gets here and he's up against better players than he has been playing against in Serie B/C, we'll find out that he's not that quick after all.

Fully expecting him to be a bit part player for the rest of this season, and a bit of a dud in all honesty.

Whilst all entitled to our opinions I think this is a tad harsh

maybe he will be better playing with better players and a better coach? A more open game here in the championship maybe than the Italians who like to defend a lot

look with our money that they are choosing not to spend we should be after better but writing him off before a ball is kicked is unfair

Ah, but you are forgetting, Rovers always pay the full fee up front, everyone else will only be offering to them in installments, so they may have accepted the €4M 😉

Boro getting £22.5m for Latte Lath, I wonder if they’ll re-invest the fee or scrape around France and Belgium for cheap deals?

They've probably already spent the majority of it on their flurry of activity last week.

That's what you do when you've got a serious and ambitious owner who accepts there is a need to sell from time to time but will do his best to respond to that by reinvesting and backing his manager with proper signings at a crucial stage of the season.

Might work, might not, but at least they've tried.

Scratching around for cheap loans and foreign punts a month after we needed immediate reinforcements with proven quality as identified by our manager sums it up.

That’s exactly it spending doesn’t automatically equal success some signings could be bust

but at least you have tried and at least the fans know you have tried
