We won’t be signing the Egyptian lad this is purely a rouse just to appease unrest amongst us

don’t be fooled

Does it appease us when we end up failing to sign anyone? Again...?

Not sure. Eustace entered a pretty hostile climate when he arrived last season, I think there will be some sort of backlash if we only sign Kargbo and slip down the table as a result of it.

Marvellous a token striker that won’t  start. Great to see the links for left back/midfield and pace on wings we do need. Absolutely perfect transfer activity. Ffs

Kargbo is a winger. Full of pace and direct. Whether he can have an impact in the championship or not is a different matter.

How many years of this have you encountered before? By now, you should be well aware of how this normally plays out. Either we tried, a fax machine doesn't work, or somebody didn't check papers correctly. Anything else I missed?

The little caveat is that the fax machine does work and they do manage to press send rather than save when it's a player who doesn't cost much money...

Kargbo clearly got nothing to do with Eustace and another 'project' signing pushed by persons unknown.

Yawn.

the same type of signing we did with Gueye or Ohashi or Cantwell

"No, obviously nobody's in at the moment. The club are working very hard to make sure we try and get a couple of good players in before the end of the window" Eustace said.

A couple.

Started off as needing 2/3, then after injuries it should have turned into 4/5... but now it's down to a couple.

*sigh*

we have already signed 2 players whilst we will sign at least a couple more.

€4m bid rejected for striker Willem Geubbels at St Gallen.

Our bid was rejected alongside €6m from Union Berlin and €8m from Luton.

Moving on…

I mentioned this player on Sunday night has a possible option for us.

Boro getting £22.5m for Latte Lath, I wonder if they’ll re-invest the fee or scrape around France and Belgium for cheap deals?

They were linked with a Slovakian striker David Strelec from Slovan Bratislava at £6-8m fee

if kargbo actually does sign,he looks a completely different player to duberry ,who i`ve not been impressed with at all, bigger stronger and more direct, will be a good addition i think

we still need a centre forward though and another midfielder

Duberry has offered absolutely nothing in the games I've seen, but then neither have Hedges, Dolan etc. We're just really poor in those positions.

Leaning heavily on some FM knowledge here but the Serie C where Kargbo has been most prolific is both insanely hard to get out of and also a bizarre mixture of village clubs, phoenix clubs and development squads for Serie A.  All that said it's nigh on impossible to judge him as a player if his main performances are at that level.

ACD has offered something off the bench at times, but has looked totally lost when starting. Good at pressing and has shown glimpses - I think it's a player there and wouldn't mind us signing him on a permanent in the summer.

Youve been keen to stress throughout the last month that we need Championship experience and have always echoed Eustace who has regularly asked for that.

Are you concerned that we seemingly are not going to get that? Are you concerned that there is a chance that Eustace is not the one who is picking the signings? He described Kargbo as "one the club likes."

You also said Kargbo and that striker at St  Johnstone would not be a good enough window and you seemed uncharacteristically irritated by the club. Are you still as unimpressed by us signing Kargbo?

And you wanted "assets on the balance sheet" having heard Elliott Jackson say it. Would a window of Kargbo and 3 short term deals concern you regarding that.

His stand out performance by a mile came against Luton when he started. Got a goal and man of the match.

I'm just not sure about his physicality or ability to hold up the ball. Yes he's shown glimpses but not sure he's someone we can rely on in our team if we want to contend.

Mind boggles as to what a scout as seen ??? i cant see no championship player in them clips

I hope I'm wrong, but Mostafa is way way better than him. I would have done all I can get him or Cissoko.

Whether this Mohamed is a genuine link or total rubbish, it does feel like Gestede is starting to dominate in terms of recruitment and it doesnt feel like Eustace's wishes will be granted. Interesting to see what @chaddyrovers makes of it.

We know that Gestede as head of football operations so of course he would be leading the search and working with Adam Owen to bring in players even if we had a chief Scout(who wouldn't be involved transfer negotiations)

Eustace wants championship experience signings but unless we spent the players on getting them and pay higher wages for players like Wallace, Bamford and Schlupp, we can't pay those wages on our budget. So we have be smarter and clever in our transfers and still bring in experience championship like we did with Hyam or Brittain or Batth or Weimann but also look for lower wage quality players like Ohashi.

Eustace has been involve in the final choice of who we sign but also he is having to compromise on just looking at championship players and look further field and into the European leagues.
