January Transfer window

You keep saying 4th or 5th choice. Baker was our 3rd choice so why when we have injuries in that position are we going for a 4th or 5th choice?

Cos I think Buckley is a good player and Forshaw is a decent experience player.

I just don't get the hatred for a player who people were dead against as soon as he signed the paperwork

We are in a position to push for the play offs. It shows your standards that you are content with anybody just to make the numbers up.

Yes we are the playoffs cos the Eustace and the players have performed above and beyond and I would say your standard is a load of BS. I said the quality of the striker we signed this window would determine our playoffs hope or not. Which I stand by the way. 2 days to go.

And ive commented on the standard of football hes come from and also the short contract offered. I have no opinion on him as an individual. But where we have got him from doesnt really fit in with a club desperate to improve to sustain a play off push. You were critical of the idea last week, like with Forshaw you are now wriggling around doing everything you can to defend the club.

Did Samba fit in with the way we wanted to? A team challenging for European football.

I stand by what I said which see what he is like here.

I would be very underwhelmed if borrowing a striker with minimal experience was the route we go down.

I agree with you here

Tbf Ohashi, Gueye and Cantwell have been excellent signings and we have been in contact with Kargbo since the summer, so let’s see how he is on the pitch.

we need at least two more players, another winger, a striker and a CM… probably get a last min loan striker 😞

Buckley is a talented player but has no idea how to apply his talent to influence or impact games. He probably never will at this point.

He impacted the game last night.

Forshaw is absolutely dreadful. Look at what happened when he came on the pitch yesterday and the games he's  started for us. We've had no midfield presence at all. He'll be playing in league 2 next season like Fleck.

You aren't going to be able to replace Travis like for like and deffo not his influence and leadership. I don't think taking Hedges and Dolan off help yesterday

Sanderson is a passable signing given he'll be 4th choice once Carter is back.

ok

Kargbo is a strange signing and one that Eustace has made clear "the club" wanted to sign and not him.

The club have clearly scouted this player and we seen similar signings like Samba or Nelsen or Mokenna, not the other way. Yes it a risk but every signing is a risk

Overall I'd give our window a 1 out of 10 at the moment. Not good enough at all.

Good for you Rovers11 👍

Look at Plymouth, Boro, and Millwall. All sold their best player but have heavily re-invested that money back into the squad. Where is the Sammie and Wharton money?

I have said that the Wharton has gone to cover the debt for the running cost of the club.

We have reinvested some money not enough of the money has been re invested in bringing new signings(I have said similar)

Have we reinvested any of the Wharton or Szmodic money?

The money for Gally,Ennis and Whalstedt paid for our signings in the summer

The Wharton fee, the Szmodic fee and the Raya sell on disappeared.

We are in the playoffs have had big money coming in.

Is it not understandable for supporters to be dissapointed that the best they could do is bring In a 34 year old midfielder who struggled for minutes at a team in relegation trouble?

Look at Millwall lose a player and within a week have broken their transfer record and also signed up other players.

It's taken us all month to sign Kargbo, shouldn't have been a difficult deal to do considering the price and no other teams in for him

Its been a shit window again

Stop talking sense

Hatred? Stop being melodramatic. People are frustrated that we have replaced a player who was a decent 3rd choice in Baker with someone who Plymouth happily released because he wasnt good enough to make their team. Hes been poor so far for us. We are in a position where we need a push, and midfield is an area where our main 2 have both had injuries. Does an ambitious club replace a departing 3rd choice with a veteran to be "4th/5th choice?" You know it doesnt but you defend it and start talking about hatred.

You have repeatedly shown a lack of standard. You keep saying things like "oh should we not sign anyone then" as a defence for not signing what we needed or wanted.

You didnt seem too impressed with Kargbo last week and kept calling for a Championship experienced player. Now hes signed, no question marks whatsoever. You can say if its not what you wanted yet still "back" him and hope he does well.

For every signing plucked from obscurity, there are 2 or 3 that didnt achieve anything. Obviously we might have plucked a hidden gem in Kargbo, lets hope so. Although we arent well protected with his short contract if he does. But the frustration is at the owners for again not seemingly backing us when we need it.

Middlesbrough are signing Iling Junior on loan from Villa. Paid big money and loaned him to Bologna. They have some serious quality even with Latth leaving who no doubt will be replaced with someone for a big fee.

If we finish above Boro, we'll be in the play offs

Even Wrexham and Huddersfield in league one are outspending us.

Worryingly we are getting outspeed by the weakest teams in the division. Plymouth are one of relegation favourites and yet are spending more than us. Interesting to see how much Derby spend from their big name sale. Granted how wisely you spend is as important as how much, but there's only so much that can be wisely done when you spend the change down the back of your sofa only.

Getting outspeed by the likes of Hiddersfoeld and Plymouth is a sign we are going to be overtaken again and sink even further.

Sky are saying they are leading Celtic in the race to sign Ihneacho

If the signings they have made gel you would have to put them as taking a play off place even when they lose Latth

He can't keep using Samba and nelsen as examples. That's just ridiculous.

2 players we signed over 15 years ago! Since that good little era the garbage signings outweigh those few by over 10 to 1.

It's somewhat frustrating that we're so poorly organised January isn't a means to look at supplementing the squad and pre contract.

Two random names to throw out are the two wingers at Randers in Denmark.  Campbell is lightning and Nordli is lighting the league up

€10m rejected for Geubbles.

Rover’s €4m bid is similar to the ticket inspector at a Lilly Phillips event…

Plus reportedly bidding less than Coventry paid for Asante, sky had us in at £1.7 .

Pissing about under bidding hoping for a favour while players within the budget we have are snapped up by other teams

Then we sign the player we could have signed and got involved in the squads much earlier

The budget is shit but they move so slow

Would they qualify for permits or would they have to take up one of the slots for players who don't qualify?

As we have all those slots filled...makes the signing of the young French guy odd  unless there was supreme confidence he could maybe become a first team player in the not to distant future we shouldn't have used one up on him

Spend a fortune every year to Boro.

O'Brien now would be such a waste... Buckley and Trav are good enough to push us through these next few games, until tronstad comes back....All remaining budget HAS to be spent on the front line.

Until the next inevitable injury strikes? You get the all the quality in you can in this league
