Have you any idea how much o'Brien will cost? Let say we bring him in... Do you think it's fair to drop either of Buckley or Tarv? Priority is attack, we are toothless up top, and that's with Kargbo. We need power and pace. Hedges and Dolan are complete average Joes.

As we have all those slots filled...makes the signing of the young French guy odd  unless there was supreme confidence he could maybe become a first team player in the not to distant future we shouldn't have used one up on him

O'Brien, Youan, the striker from St Gebbles or whatever is complete smoke! We've spent our budget on one player and he's an unknown. It's taken us all month to do it and to please the fans we've done it before a 'derby game'. Luckily the board have got away with it because, we won,   and the sham of the last few weeks of zero activiry have been forgotten.

40miion brought in and fuck all has been spent. Plymouth, Derby and Millwall all selling players and re-investing within a week.

Think people were blinded by the two crossfield passes he did. To be fair, they were excellent, but that’s about all he did. Felt like Travis was doing the running for both of them. No wonder he was out on his feet about 50 minutes in.

BLACKBURN have been told to up their bid for Nantes striker Mustafa Mohamed….

Rovers asked to take the Egypt international,  27, on loan on full wages — but the French club prefer a permanent move and want £3.6million either now or in the summer.

 

If Rovers do sign a striker by tomorrow, they will let local lad Harry Leonard go out on loan — with Plymouth and Portsmouth keen.

Leonard will be staying if his back injury is serious … 

looks like they hanging around for the Egyptian Goal machine ….

It's a balancing act though - short of bringing in a PL quality CM they're going to be third choice (unless you want to break up Tronstad and Travis). Is O'Brien going to want to be third choice? Is that a wise use of our resources considering he's on a reported £40k a week?

We've got through the back-breaking part of the season now, where you have a game every 2-3 days. There's not as much need for rotation (a lack of which broke Travis and Tronstad). 

We need help at RW and CF more than anything - especially if Leonard is injured.

Dieng been out though and they have brought in Travers who is a good goalkeeper. 

Spoilt for choice with their attacking options now 

If Carrick doesn't make top 6 with this backing surely Gibson will replace him in the summer

But we’re also still without Tronstad for at least a month realistically. And then who knows what other injuries could occur. 
Travis’ absence proved how poor our squad depth is. Can’t be reliant on two players so much. Buckley isn’t an adequate replacement for either.

We wouldn't be paying 40k a week 

A club will take him paying 20k max.He can play LB if needed did for boro many times, left on the 3 if needed, even as a ten if needed 

I'd rather him than no midfielder being signed or another cheap punt, he has had a disappointing couple of years but a signing like him would give the players and management a massive boost rather than another player they have to google

The position we are in I would say go for it, anyone would, 3.6 million should be achievable for what we’ve brought in. But as things stand I would say that price tag would take the rest of this windows budget plus the summers budget going off last few windows

Why would he be 3rd choice?

Tronstad is out for another month yet, if O'Brien came in and played well and we're getting results, then Tronstad would have to bide his time to get back in. It's how competitive football works, nobody should be an automatic pick.

Cantwell had fallen out with the manager, he was a bad smell so they wanted rid and quick. We spent fuck all on him and got lucky really.

It's clear as day we've spent our budget. If we had any interest in spending any more we've of spent it by now!

If true, proves rovers are pissing about again, they apparently offered 4mil euros for a striker, which is around 3.5mil, so why ask to take this lad on loan if they have 3.5mil spare that they offered on another player.

Agreed yes all or nothing for carrick now but attack isn’t the issue of late for them it’s in defence

travers a good pick up but their midfield and defence been suspect of late
