BLACKBURN have been told to up their bid for Nantes striker Mustafa Mohamed….

Rovers asked to take the Egypt international,  27, on loan on full wages — but the French club prefer a permanent move and want £3.6million either now or in the summer.

 

If Rovers do sign a striker by tomorrow, they will let local lad Harry Leonard go out on loan — with Plymouth and Portsmouth keen.

Leonard will be staying if his back injury is serious …

It is understood a lot of the top Egyptian clubs also want him as well as Saudi clubs but the player only wants European clubs at this stage of his career .. Rovers must be getting encouragement from his team hence this story is rumbling on …..Something just doesn’t add up …

No chance. If this is the player we’re “chasing” I’m now even more confident we’ll get no one else in. Time wasters.

The executives at the club don’t have the ability to pull off a transfer like this.

In fact I’m not sure we can sign any player where there is a serious interest (at an equal level) elsewhere. Name me one we’ve landed recently.

They are too incompetent and the green light for anything significant never comes.

5 bookings only results in a ban up to and including the 19th league game.

Earliest suspension is now 2 matches for 10 bookings.

Well, Cantwell, to be fair.

Both the player and the club confirmed that he had a lot of other options, but he liked how JE sold the club and ambitions to him.

Would love it to happen sure, but there are too many other teams looking for a striker right now who could blow us out of the water financially.

He'd want a way higher wage than we’d be willing to offer, and we’d be comfortably outbid in an instant… if we even met the asking price in the first place, that is.

Call me negative but I’m not even gonna entertain it in the slightest. The sooner they move on from it the better, as we do actually need a striker.

It's become too public, too many teams are interested and they want too much.

We have a L1 budget - most of the Championship would be able to gazump us for his signature if they had the space in their squad. I suspect one of them will if he's determined to stay in Europe.

Could be but definitely a gamble hasn’t played in 2 months and been injured quite a bit this season too

also not sure how he would play in a Parker team they quite frankly are a dreadful watch

It'd be cool if he was simply backing himself to fire a team close to the play-offs into the PL.

On another note be better for Leonard to head to League One if he is to go out on loan I don't think he would get sufficient minutes at either Plymouth or Portsmouth if those teams did make offers

I posted before, I watch Ligue 1 and Mostafa is a fantastic player but before being excited about him. He has caused a huge stir in France not just around LGBT stuff but many more. If he comes he may disrupt the harmony and that is something we need to consider. 3.6m is a lot for money for a player who has had many controversial moments. His record is good his character highly questionable
