Whittaker was replacing Jones who they sold to Luton for around £5m. Plus Whittaker isn't a striker like Latth is.

Iheanacho last season at this level for Leicester got 5 goals in 23 games for them, So I wouldn't agree that is top quality loan.

I thought They would have gone for Adebayo from Luton or Wright/Simms from Coventry

Expand

So you think BTA would be a quality signing for us at this level but don’t think iheanacho would be a quality loan at this level? Madness

They have also signed Travers and Giles expensive loan deals for good players at this level

Boro are showing far more ambition than us in the market...surely you can't disagree with that.

They will also add other players most likely before deadline

Expand

They need a keeper so signed one. Travers is a good one.

Giles, a decent player with good delivery

more ambition? they need a keeper, signed one. Need a left back, sign one. Needed a replacement for Jones and signed an excellent player as his replacement

If they are showing ambition, they would spending big on replacement for Latth not a loan for striker who scored 5 goals in 23 games last season

The Danns link is predictable. It's a massive gamble and another asset that we wouldn't own after the summer.

He got bullied in the Champions League (yes I know) - so he's clearly not going to walk into the side and set the Championship on fire.

As an aside, wasn't the rumour that Mowbray was referring to Marcus Maddison and/or Erhun Oztumer with that comment?

In retrospect, it looks like he made the right judgement on those two (particularly in regard to the character of the former, yeesh). Or am I misremembering? (Ronan Curtis, maybe? He never made the jump from Pompey, then unfortunately did his ACL...)

And we are ambitious spending 2 or 3 million after taking in near 40 million.

Y

Why did they need a goalkeeper and left back or Whittaker when they are in the playoffs that cost as much as those players when Boro where already in the playoffs?

Surely they should just be going for cheap signings like Foreshaw like us

This is what any teams that loan him are in for - don't you remember the Liverpool nutters following Elliot's every touch when he was on loan here?

Danns has only played 7 professional matches. While those matches are at a decent leve and he has great potentiall he would still be a huge gamble to take

As far as evidence of gambles go there is a lad at Port Vale on loan from Palace who looks a great player in PL2 highlights.  Be very interested to see how he gets on there

Seems like Sunderland are in strong for Danns. So with him potentially going there and the Egyptian seemingly beyond us financially, is there a chance we again end up empty handed?

Expand

Every chance that we will only sign one player .

He is already signed , so Waggott and Co will have the next couple of days off , before travelling down to QPR.

Have I said we have been ambitions those? No I haven't. I know that we have receive plenty of money and not reinvested as much as any of us wanted but we haven't.

Cos their number Dieng has just had surgery and second choice Brynn is also injured. So they just had third choice and young keeper as back up. So signing another keeper is logical

Giles will provide squad depth.

Whittaker is a replacement and upgrade for a player they sold to Luton in Jones for £5m.

I have just said they should be spending big on a quality striker not just a loan striker.

And they might still spend big.

Boro have been far more pro active and far more ambitious than us that's a fact

You can delude yourself to thinking otherwise if you wish but it is a fact

It's ridiculous...Ihneacho spent the majority of his career at top division clubs

BTA has never played above championship

Expand

Yes I am fully aware of both player career paths thanks.

so what if he spent all his time at top division clubs. Means currently nothing. He flopped at Seville and last season for Leicester he only scored 5 goals. is that great?

BTA has worked his way up the league and last season he got 11 goals in 39 games.

more pro active?

They replaced 2 injured keepers by signing one, signed a decent squad player and signed Whittaker as Jones's replacement

Why are they even thinking of selling Latth when their other striker Tommy Conway is injured. If they were being ambition as you say why are selling the only fit quality striker?

If spending time at top level means nothing then why did you back Eustace for experience?

you wanted bamford to didn’t you

keep going good reading of a Sunday

Because money talks. Latte Lath is 26 years old, they are probably never going get a bigger price than the 22 million or so that is the rumoured figure they are selling for. Not saying its right, and I'm sure a lot of Boro fans would rather keep the player they currently have, but sometimes the money on offer will trump anything else.

Anyway, on Rovers, I hope to see at least 2 new players in tomorrow, ideally 3.
