January Transfer window

Recommended Posts

24 hours left of the window…

We won’t get O’Brien.

We won’t get Mohamed.

We won’t get Danns.

It seemed like we could maybe salvage the window a little with a good deadline day, the very least they should do after all of the points dropped whilst they did shag all. The quality players linked might have provided a beacon of hope… but nope, if it seems too good to be true it always, always is with Rovers.

At best, we might strengthen our bench - whilst those around us have massively strengthened their starting XI.

Playoffs seem further and further away each day… buckle up, we’re in for a rollercoaster tomorrow lads!

Based on the other criteria not the games/minutes one (although I’ve got confused as to if @bluebruce thinks Ohashi is on 14 or 15 points 😁)

The GBE calculator has Ohashi on 14 points. I was talking about 15 only to say he would probably be on 15 so far if he hadn't been injured.

Eustace has done very well here. It will have been noticed and he'll have no problem getting a job with an ambitious

Championship club. I'm not saying he will but he definitely could if he wanted it.

No job available right now

It also isn't a good look to criticise your employers in public , owners of other clubs will not like that.

Summer he will be off but there is no job to take right now and we are 5th he isn't going to rock the boat he will see the last 15 games out unless he gets a job offer he finds attractive

Thanks for the clarification, I’ve updated my earlier posts to point out  my error.

Apologies, hopefully you’ve at least learnt something (even if that’s only that I need to read things more carefully!)

Derby will sack Warne and he'll go there, I'm almost certain of it.

Of course, you do a great job digging out these rules and making them clearer. It's appreciated!

At this point, surely criticising Venkys is basically just stating the obvious to the football community. A bit like announcing footballs are round.

I'd expect most other club owners would fancy themselves to be considerably better owners than Venkys and not come in for the same treatment.

With 15 games to go though even finishing in the top 8 or 10 will be seen as admirable by many other clubs with no backing

In the summer Southampton could be available or another team with more spending power than Derby County.

Granted they have invested more money than us but they are far off a squad challenging for promotion.

You have a point but I just don't see Eustace reacting similar to JDT.

He will express some disappointment but then move on to the players he does have and throw out a few cliches about the togetherness and belief etc

Why are we looking at central midfielders when we brought Forshaw in? He’s garbage, I think we’re all agreed, but why waste the money, the effort, the time and the registration place on him at all, if we were always going to be looking for another one? It wasn’t hard to shuffle the team around until players were back, less than ideal, but needs must. We’ve got kids we could’ve played and been at least as useful as Forshaw has proven so far.

Squad planning is surely the first port of call for recruitment. Why have they failed so badly here?

players requiring registration that could do a job at CM/DM after the window:

Trav, Sonny, JRC, Buckley, Forshaw, Sanderson, Cantwell, Weimann, McDonnell (new from L’pool)

Depth of 9 for two positions, nice one, great job, pick your cheque up and back to eating play-doh, you fucking morons.

Depth of 9, not the 8 I initially counted.

Who are all these brilliant owners you reference? The only clubs above us are either awash with parachute payments, or Sunderland averaging 38,000 each home game.

Forshaw was a terrible signing. But Weimann, Cantwell and definitely Sanderson could not play in central midfield.

Wonder how Ethan Brierley is getting on 2 years after his own transfer collapse on the same day as O’Brien

He moved to Brentford but think he’s only played in the league cup from what I can see

He essentially hasn't played a game of professional football since May 2023.

Someone with a user name like yours should know better than making a post like that.

What you said isn't even worth the dignity of a serious response.

I didn't see JDT doing it, with his big smiley face, either. He'd made a couple of cheeky remarks about the bus etc but still. And I think Eustace has far more of a temper. I think he'll see the season through as there's no reasonable clubs likely to come up, but I wouldn't rule it out if one appears, nor some choice remarks

Right get Harry Chapman from whatever non league club he’s at these days. We need some deadline day excitement.

He's at Barnet FC pal & me, my nephew, Godchild and sister went to see him a few months ago he played very well & scored an excellent goal & I have to say Barnet were very accommodating in helping me meet him get some photos & get items signed & the Beef Brisket pie was gorgeous lovely ground, lovely people and club & he played very well for them don't know how he'd cope in the championship let's hope tomorrow brings lots of excitement! 👍
