There's also a big difference between getting in the playoffs and having what it takes to win them. We are simply miles off it, and it's largely a board mentality/ ownership issue.

After today I'm pretty confident there will be no hiding for them, from even the happiest of clappers.

What irritates me is Jackson stating we 'pushed very hard' for Danns.

He doesn't know that. He has been told that by a club employee. 

Some of them are liars and have arse covering to be doing as the inevitable January failings become clear.

Yet Jackson putting this sort of thing out in the media helps create the 'poor us we tried' impression.

It just isn't good enough and isn't acceptable, no matter what sob stories they spread.

Especially when more reputable journalists are stating we called them up and didn’t get past that stage.

We are just embarrassing.

This is heading to be the worst of all windows under this regime - and that's saying something.

I know this has been said many times but it just reiterates the point that for the 3rd year (or 4th?) in a row there is clearly no desire or ambition by the club management to make the top 6.

I'm not sure whether anger or resignation are the right emotions. Either way, fans (and the town) do no deserve this

Ironically on the Jackson/stag do controversy - I’ve taken the day off for transfer deadline day. Something about it made me think we were going to leave it late again. I think this time, we’ll probably end up doing nothing, despite leaving it extremely late already. I’m also squeezing in a medical procedure today, tbf, so it’s not a total waste of time. Every likelihood that I grab an Ole & Steen Stænger on the way home as well, because I’m quite cosmopolitan like that.

As many of us predicted last week, all the striker links were simply PR exercises so that the club can trot out the "we tried for some very good strikers" line tomorrow.

We're a tough out. If we got into the Playoffs I'd fancy my chances against anyone not named Sheffield United.

If we find a goalscorer then we'd have an (outside) chance. I'd struggle to see us beating any playoff side over two legs as it's difficult to rely on them misfiring for 180 minutes and we will find it hard to score the 2-4 goals we would need to go through.

Any more of that and there will be bans handed out unfortunately.

Appreciate that Venky's are sh1theads that constantly let us down, sell our best players and don't re-invest the proceeds, but we still need to show each other some respect.
