Over 180 minutes against a good team we would rely on the opposition misfiring.

You look at our results so far against the current top 6 and we've not done super well. We've scored 5 and conceded 7, but we've also been on the back foot. I don't think xG is perfect, but we've created an average xG of .87, whereas our opposition have created an average x6 of 1.48 (our season average is .97, so, unsurprisingly, the good teams are creating a lot more chances against us).

We've actually been fairly efficient, as an xG of 6.07 has resulted in 5 goals (although that includes the Weimann strike against Burnley). Our well-drilled defensive unit has benefit from some slight profligacy, with an xG of 10.37 only resulting in 7 goals.

The sample size is so small that you can't read that much into it, but it's still an indicator that we would be up against it if we had to play 3 matches against top 6 sides.

Our reliance on defensive solidity is why we've lost so many games 1-0, at this level you're going to get mistakes when playing such a high risk strategy of defence being your main form of attack. Our aim at times is to not lose, with winning being a happy by product, problem is when you do go behind a la Dingles home game it's then very hard for us to win. I think it also leaves us open to mental fatigue and at some point this season we'll get an absolute hiding from someone if say 2 of 4 defenders are below par

We'll sign some 22 year old forward on loan from a Premier League team. Someone who is a similar standard to Vale.

Motherwell signed 3 strikers last week, we might end up getting Vale back

He will be like a new signing lol

In summary according to Jackson. We tried (probably not too hard) for Danns. Didn't try for the other 2 lads linked. I'm hoping it's just a case of the LET being miles away from knowing anything and we have a surprise lined up, although I know hope and Rovers on transfer deadline day is a match made in hell.

As far as ‘tallest dwarf’ or ‘best of a sewer’ signings go, I think Rhodes could actually be useful in a team also containing pace down at least one wing, the industry of Gueye and Ohashi, and an engine of Travis and Tronstad.

If he can put the ball in the net from 6 yards a few times…

My God, what have Venkys done to my expectations?

They've destroyed it over many years pal! The sooner they pack up & leave the better

Great player in his day but he turns 35 this week and has scored 0 goals in over 20 games this season in League 1

What mark out of 10 would you give Waggott and Gestede for their management of this window?

To help you, I'll give you my mark based upon what's happened so far in 30 odd days with just 12 hours or so to go.

And my mark is 1 out of 10.  IMO, a p1ss poor performance and I would put money on even you doing better.

I thnink you're being overly generous with that mark.

Literally no leads anywhere. 😐😢🙈

This needs to pick up quickly otherwise I’ll be genuinely convinced nobody else is coming.

They can’t, can they?

Headed towards the worst window in years and we’re 5th.

I often wonder what the point of them owning us is. Can’t be financial.

With O'brien off the cards I wouldn't mind seeing the Club look at a deal for Massimo Luongo - hardly played this season but was pivotal in Ipswich's promotion last season.

*sigh*

But they probably won't even bother getting a CM now, will they?

"Ooo we tried our little best for O'brien, then it got too late..."

You think that they couldn’t possibly fail again, so badly but as it stands, it really does look like nothing happening and we are now into the last 12 hours. That means if it is a foreign based player, they would be in the country by now and so looks like we all going to be left disappointed again, and very angry !
