Lets face it the club is rotten tot he core with no ambition at all - today proves a point - friday night waggot brings out his star signing to keep fans  off his back and once again it work the fans kept quite and mentioned nothing about the board.

you the likes of Connor chaplin -  Adam armstrong available we are currently sat in 5th and not going for any of them to push us on - then you look at boro having a massive push at the correct time half a season to go on and they are signing 4 attackers thats called ambitious club and owner

We will end up with crap like Grant here another one past his days who isn't needed at all - this is once again an embarrassment on recruitment and the board and owners

We're 1 point above Middlesbrough in the table, though they have a very tough game-in-hand tonight against Sunderland.

Their window so far...

Morgan Whittaker
George Edmundson
Samuel Iling-Junior
Ryan Giles
Mark Travers
Kelechi Iheanacho

Compare that to ours... the difference is absolutely astronomical.

That there is how it's done, that is ambition.

What our owners have done, and continue to do, is absolutely unforgiveable. Pocketing fortunes from selling our best players, one of which is a born-and-bred Rover and product of Jack's Academy... then having the Club feed off scraps for replacements. Absolute scum of the highest order.

They have Gibson,we have the Pune Ham Shankers.

I actually think he looks really uncomfortable in this clip. Smiling with a grimace. Could be that he doesn’t want to give too much away.

Honestly, I’m farrrrr from a pessimist. But I know he offered his resignation in the summer when they pulled the rug from under him, having promised him the McGuire cash if he kept them up. I PRAY that the striker is one he wants, and I would prioritise JE’s happiness over my opinion on their quality, because them signing some obscure 28yr old Mali international will not cut it.

We might be about to piss all over our own chips with Eustace. We likely already have…🙈

Why would you OFFER to resign.?

You would just resign if you were unhappy. Not having that tbh

The cash that was supposedly available to buy Duncan McGuire before it collapsed.

It was a loan with an option, there was never any intention of buying him, nor was there any money set aside for it.

It was costing rovers that when we had the deal then 8million in promoted

You don't know that, you just saw a report, and frankly I can't see why we would pay 2 million for a 6 month loan when we are such skinflints. Half of that would be enough of a surprise. Even if such a figure was correct it would definitely be inclusive of covering his wages. After he didn't come here, they then had to rush a deal through to the MLS because they hadn't registered him, so their bargaining power will have been low, and outside of superstars MLS teams aren't going to pay those sorts of loan fees. His stock has only dipped since. There's no way they've recouped anything like 8 million in loan fees.

Hence why I said supposedly. Reports did also say we were trying to buy him at first then changed our mind. Obviously I don't believe it was ever happening, but certainly seems like the sort of thing our clowns would tell Eustace.

JDT tried this and I believe they said he could go but they'd make him sit out his contract. Assume it'd be the same for Eustace, which means he wouldn't be able to work until Summer 2026.

JDT was on record repeatedly as saying he offered to resign and was refused.

If you resign, I believe you are financially penalised as you are under contract. Otherwise managers would resign and go to another club instead of that club receiving compensation.

McGuire cash?

Yes, when they offered him the job, he was told that the money that had been earmarked for McGuire was in the bank and he could spend it, if he kept us up.

My belief is that they lost patience with GB and JDT before deadline day and sabotaged that deal whilst tapping JE up.

I think that’s the frustration. Boro have sold players but they have reinvested a decent chunk on good players. You see Sunderland, Burnley and even Hull all going for it.

Not one of our signings so far improves the starting 11. Hardly improve the squad. Kargbo I haven’t seen but he is likely going to need a month to settle in.

It’s blatant there is zero ambition anymore. We are only getting players that are unwanted and no one else is in the market for.

Groundhog Day!!!!!

Originally it was a straight cash deal. Then we went rogue and negotiated a loan with an obligation / option…THEN we didn’t press send! 🙈

I’m at the point where I’m convinced anyone defending Venky’s, Waggott, Pasha et al for this shambles of a window has an ulterior motive.

There’s absolutely no justification for our inactivity throughout, as literally every team around us strengthens their ranks.

More like the owners wouldn't let us press send.

Given that we had no intention of actually signing him, technically the money we were going to spend on him has been made available.

There are too many people still doing that for them all to have ulterior motives. Other reasons include: ignorance of the information, chronic positivity-in-spite-of-facts syndrome, and sheer stupidity.

As far as I understand it; first it was a straight cash deal - then at some point shortly after he was told the deal was off and not to get on the plane. By that point he'd already said goodbye to Orlando and his agent thought he'd be able to get a deal elsewhere, if not at Rovers.

So clearly someone at Rovers (Suhail?) decided there's no way we're paying £3m for someone and scuppered the deal.

It's at this point that I think Broughton went rogue - bearing in mind McGuire was sat in a Sheffield hotel lobby - and tried to rescue the deal with Orlando by offered a loan with a mandatory buying fee. Obviously by now Orlando were pissed off, so asked for £1m+ more, which we agreed to.

Again someone at Rovers scuppered this at the last possible moment by 'forgetting to press send'. Silvestre fell on his sword and Broughton was sacked shortly after.

It doesn't help that there are a full adult generation of people - the oldest are potentially graduating from University this year - who literally were not even born (Souness) and have no consciousness (Hughes/Allardyce) of anything pre Steve Kean/Venkys.

Stockholm syndrome.
