We are on the verge of just signing a cover left back, two appalling reserve players from Plymouth and Birmingham, and an unknown from Serie B after brining in £40m in transfer fees. Even by Venkys standards, that us utterly appalling.

A lot of excellent business being done by many other clubs in the Championship.

It's totally embarrassing what this club has become. Even if we do bring in a striker at this stage, it won't be anyone of any calibre. Personally feel like our striker search is doomed now that Danns has chosen Sunderland.

I don't think Danns has chosen Sunderland, I think Liverpool have.

As for Sanderson, I don't think it's fair to call him appalling, but each to their own.

You have to think it's an open secret between players in England that the Rovers hierarchy is shite to work with.

"Do they bounce cheques?"

"No".

That's all most players / agents need to know - well the ones not looking for a promotion fight of course.

And you'd have to think we dont have a glowing reputatuon "over the pond" either after the Mcguire debacle!

Clearly you don't. It was ok against Bristol City and we seen that Buckley is stepping up and improving game by game, He needs a run of games to get used to playing regular and now we the improve on the pitch.

Travis and Tronstad are the starting 2 if fit so any signing would have to accept not being first choice and playing a squad role here. Unless you are dropping our captain or probably our player of the season?

But as you said, Forshaw is 4th or 5th choice.

Baker was 3rd choice. Why not sign another player to be the 3rd choice, ie 2nd when we have injuries?

Ideally someone to be good enough where when our injured first choice player returns, we dont have to desperately rush him back and he might have to wait a game or 2.

Can see tomorrows sound bites from the club now:

”we don’t need a striker Kargbo can play there”

”we don’t need another winger Beck can play there now Ribeiro signed”

”we don’t need a centre mid we only play 6 times before Tronstad is back”

Do we watch different games?

Our defence isn't our 'main form of attack', we're just very well drilled and don't concede soft goals. We hardly park the bus.

Our attack breaks down because 2 of the 3/4 we have up there simply aren't consistently good enough.

You’re misunderstanding me, I’m not saying it as a negative and I’m not saying we do it every week. I responded to the comments re xG Against the top 6 teams where we have sat deep and used defensive solidity as our main focus with the hope of snatching a goal on the counter. My point was that whilst we’ve done it brilliantly so far, against top teams where their xG is 6 and ours is .87 at some point we will come unstuck.

Genuine question. How aware do you think anyone is at Venkys HQ about i) current league position, ii) Rovers squad quality vs our playoff competitors, iii) how active our playoff competitors have been this window vs us?

My thoughts are that if you asked any of the family members the above, they'd be 0/3.

The shambles we see every window just reflects how bothered our owners are about our club's plight.

The door for self-interested chancers looking for an easy paycheck at our club is wide open. This would never happen at a club with an owner sat in the Director's box home and away. One can dream!
