Surely a backup player shouldn’t be signing on a 3 year contract if he’s here to cover the young loan player and the guy out for another month? If he does well then he might get another year.

Do you only use criticism in evaluation btw? I would hate to work for you 😂

I never said 3 years, but if we rate him enough to sign him and him only being 28, surely we give him at least 1.5 if not 2.5 years knowing that Beck goes back in the summer.

You speak as if im being unreasonably negative, but theres not much about how the club is run that doesnt warrant criticism, is there?

Woodrow has 6 goals in 77 games for Luton. I'd rather resign Gallagher

I would burn my season ticket in protest if Gallagher donned the famous blue and white halves again - and that fucker is plastic, it'd be difficult to set alight.

Still paying Mowbray’s missus off for the lemon drizzle

Speaking of Mowbray, and apologies this is completely off topic, I read Utd played Mainoo has a false 9 yesterday. Memories of Bradley Johnson doing the same...

I remember David Goodwillie very well..

If I remember correctly Goodwillie once scored 19 for Dundee and the rest of his record was pretty mediocre prior to Rovers. Bizarre signing especially considering we were in the PL but I suppose not considering who was in control of the club at the time. Kean called him "a young Wayne Rooney" 🙄

Feels like we're limping from transfer window to transfer window with no long-term plan at all.

You can already see how summer's going to pan out. We'll trigger Hyam's year option, Dolan will be off and we'll d*ck Batth around so much that, if he does sign, he'll have missed pre-season.

Please don’t ever bring that up again.

I also went to Reading and saw Ryan Giles and Khadra as a front 2 of a back 5.

Not if I only experienced it through your eyes. I personally have been nothing but grateful for the difference John Eustace has made.

Transfer dealings so far:

Forshaw (free)

Sanderson (loan)

Kargbo (£1m)

Ribero (free)

I hate to continually be negative about our transfer window but I'm appalled by it. Will the LT be brave enough to ask the tough questions to the club after yet another transfer window shambles?

Eustace will leave in the summer and I don't blame him for doing so. We're building a midtable league 1 team at present.

Could be asked at the fans forum. "How do you explain to fans recouping £30-40m in transfer fees and spending perhaps 10% of that, at the absolute most?

Ribeiro was under contract at Braga until summer 2026. It seems odd that he has agreed to swap that for a year less of contract security. His wages would have to be triple his Braga wages for it to be worth his while financially, unless they've paid off 2/3 or so of his contract. Which is probably the going rate for contract payoffs, but I have to wonder why they were so desperate to offload him that they'd do that.

Also strange we haven't put a one year extension option in there, especially given we will be down a left back in the summer.

I've seen a few posts on twitter saying they are content enough with the window...WHAT THE FUCK are these people smoking?

Hedges didn't have anywhere near the record Shankland has. Even out of form this season, it's still a player courted by Rangers this window. Lots of experience, international, knows where the back of the net is. I'd be happy with this one.

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24907088.blackburn-rovers-sign-ribeiro-explore-luton-striker-deal/

Meanwhile, we understand that Rovers have explored a deal for Luton Town forward Cauley Woodrow.

The Hatters are open to a potential deal, although it remains to be seen how close an agreement is ahead of tonight’s deadline at 11pm.

Woodrow was left out of the squad against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend amid speculation over his future.

“Cauley’s had lots of transfer interest this week," said manager Matt Bloomfield.

"We've bought Thelo (Aasgaard) in who was going to start in that number 10 option which Cauley can play, and again it just felt the right thing with what’s been going on.

“I think Cauley is an absolute diamond by the way. He’s a proper Luton guy.

“He doesn't want to leave, but he's had some interest this week, so we just felt it was the right thing for him not to be involved today. But if nothing goes through he's part of our group and we’re really happy to have him.”

Woodrow started out at Luton before heading to Fulham, where he made his senior debut and had loan spells at Southend, Burton, Bristol City and Barnsley.

He joined the latter on a permanent basis in 2019 and spent the next three years at Oakwell, ending up with a record of 53 goals in 157 games for the club.

The forward returned to Luton in the summer of 2022 but has only made 15 starts, scoring six goals.

The Hatters have also confirmed the signing of Norwegian striker Lasse Nordas from Tromso this evening.

Ive repeatedly said that the job Eustace doing in spite of how the club is owned and run is very impressive.

Hes not the one failing us again in this window.
