He sent me a message saying 'fantastic signing if you can keep him fit' (in reference to Bamford).

Don't know if it's based on something from the Leeds end or not.

Sure he wasn’t on about Dennis? As that statement would apply to him (and I don’t know a single Leeds fan who would class Bamford as ‘fantastic’ and I lived there for 10 years)

Rumours on twitter we are signing  Dennis AND Woodrow. Obviously, only Twitter rumours but we shall see what the next few hours bring

If so then Leonard must be leaving on a loan. I fully support that, if true.

Funnily enough I know a Leeds fan who rates Bamford...Obviously his injury record isn't great.

To be honest, I think signing 2 forwards would be overkill with Big Mak, Ohashi and Dennis all being number 9 options.

It's centre mid where we look light. The Forshaw one was a big fuck up. O'Brien and Dennis would have turned this into a very good window.

Fast wingers - cried out for them for years.

Leeds were waiting on a striker becoming available at. PL club .. said PL club have made a striker signing in this week so the domino effect could be in play …not saying Bamford to Rovers is on but it could suggest Leeds have got their man have allowed Bamford to leave

We don't have enough space for two, do we? So it'll only be one

Someone could be leaving, or they might just not bother registering Sigurdsson because what's the point? Or could Pickering's injury be worse than expected and maybe he won't be registered?

Did Hilton going free up a space?

Yes, Riberio has taken that space so one more left.

If Dennis does sign, and its a big if with us, I still consider it a poor window overall. The owners again havent backed us and its a case of trying to cobble something together in spite of them. 4 of the 5 deals will be until the summer and even Kargbo isnt a long term deal

I also do think there are downsides beyond it being another loan. He hasnt played for ages with his best form a long time ago and he has never been prolific.

In terms of his ability though, he should add alot and give us a boost. He gives us more speed and he is flexible too so he could play from one of the sides with Gueye or Ohashi also still in the team. Its a better signing than I expected even if it is short term and not the goalscorer we crave.

I know that he's only a backup but if we'd spend a little more we could easily have got LOB we have the money we should be spending it on quality not on garbage like Forshaw who can't tackle gives the ball away too much & is a very poor backup player

In fairness I'm not sure it is a little more. Six months of £20k a week plus the loan fee that Swansea are supposed to have paid, you won't get much change for a million quid if not more.

The sort of money we should absolutely be able to afford, but it's still a lot for better depth for half a season.

We replaced a 3rd choice solid backup who was dependable

The argument for signing him is oh, hes just a backup. But we have replaced a good 3rd choice with a poor 4th/5th choice.

You seem keen on being a contrarian to people you deem to be "negative today."

Are they not valid concerns? Not played in a while, not prolific and just another short term fix?

Doesnt mean in terms of calibre that people arent happy with him, reactions have been positive.

But Buckley's performances in recent games has shown he is dependable and given that Forshaw has just come in. As Buckley has show he needed a run of games to show his worth to the team.

No way were we ever going to pay Lewis O'Brien enough to get him

Seeing as we never renew contracts now these days we might as well sign players to loan deals.  Dennis would be a stark improvement across our front 3

Loan deal is probably the only thing with a chance to get done this late in the window. That said, not very confident in the club managing any kind of paperwork

Chaddy never lost his faith in Venkys

I never mentioned Venkys in my posts have I.

Now your bitterness is coming through cos I have faith we would sign a quality striker. Dennis fits that

Forest won't include an option to buy him.

Play him up front. We got 4 wide players and it does give us the option of going 2 up front for games or during games.

Dennis is someone mentioned on here earlier in the window and I mentioned last couple of weeks he would be the sort of loan which would be a quality one

Sounds like we asked about an option to buy clause, and then they remembered Deadline Day 2023 😱
