I am very happy with Dennis signing. He is quality player during his time at Forest and Wolves.

Impressive, he's never played for Wolves 🤔

In the summer we lose 12 or 13 of the squad signings have to happen, if we want have a squad not filled with 16 year old

This window we had leeway with ffp, we could spend if the desire was  there and I'm pretty certain Eustace was under the impression more money than the relative to the league pittance we spent was available

Like I said we should be using the position in the table to try entice players. They will have to spend something in the summer monet should have been spent on longer deals in this window

I assume we don't have the same wiggle room with FFP in the summer?

If not, there should be some very suspicious glances going in the direction of the hierarchy, they have actively gone out of their way to loan and sign players on as many short term contracts as possible.

Even Kargbo only signed a 2 and a half year deal.

The club’s financial year end is 30/6 so the last 3 year’s published accounts to be used for the PSR calculations will be 22/23/24 as 25’s won’t be available until year end in all probability.

This window is very bad news for teenagers sitting on the bench.

Difficult to make any other judgement but I hope Kargbo and Dennis fitness levels are where they need to be and the increased competition for places works effectively.

JE has generally been very good deploying subs. That aspect of his decision making has just got more challenging.

The Wolves line up is going to be interesting...

Correct, but that's how congested this division is. I don't think any of our current youngsters have stood out enough to get more minutes this season, and unfortunately for Tyjon he's had a few injuries that has halted his progress. Really annoying that we managed to crash out of the Carabao cup, as that was their only arena.

Overall think this window was pretty poor, when comparing to our rivals. Comparing it to a Rovers transfer window I'd say it's quite decent, and it seems to me that prices have inflated further and deals locally are harder to get done than before in that sense. Woodrow I hope is a chuck him on when we need to put on some pressure and our forwards have run out of steam. Dennis is a certain starter, he's exciting and hopefully him and Kargbo will give us a lot of excitement. Dennis is our first Nigerian player since Yakubu, if I remember correctly. Also hope our new African stars will help each other adapt and shine on and off the pitch.

Another important fixture tonight, only Kargbo is ready for that one, correct?

Better than I expected and pleased with Dennis signing. He was highly coveted before he came to England.

Feels like Eustace has had the say rather than Rudy, just my gut feel. I wonder if we'll go 2 up top now?

Get the lads back fit and there is no reason we can't finish top 6.

I think Dennis can play wide in a forward three, and also as a lone striker. He's got great technique but sometimes holds onto the ball a little too long - not unlike Dolan, but that's where the comparison ends. Different class to him.

It may turn out to be a decent window but its definitely a gamble and we won't know till the end of the season.

One thing it definitely is not----a coherent, committed attempt by the owners to keep us in the top six.

And come the summer, whatever happens, we start all over again.

I still think we’ve missed a trick not getting another winger. We’ve been crying out for a winger for years and with pace and I’m still unsure we’ve done anything about it. Again if kargbo is not very good then we will carry on struggling to give any service to any strikers we have that start. Dennis doesn’t seem like he’s going to be match fit with his lack of any game time in last 6 months. If we’ve striked lucky with kargbo then happy days, if not, I think we fall short no matter who is up top.
let’s hope Woodrow and Dennis pull something out the bag to help us push on.
Currently I don’t see any of our signings coming in to improve the 11 straight away apart from help with squad numbers.

Il shut up being negative as I didn’t expect permanents and we were never going to spend money to get proper quality in, just frustrated we couldn’t get a winger on loan we’ve been crying out for to improve the 11. I do think a quality winger pushes this team forward.

Hopefully im proved wrong!

also can Woodrow play in the 10? Or are him and Dennis just 9s?

Thanks. I'm not up to speed on the latest workings of PSR.

It doesn't reset, does it? So it's a rolling cycle, so next year it will be the accounts from 23/24/25 that go into the PSR calculation?

I don’t see how this can be dressed up as anything other than a disappointing window. There’s 5 points between us and 13th. That’s a lot of teams pushing for the playoff places. West Brom seem to have had a good window as do Boro. They could both overtake us in the coming weeks unless our form improves drastically. Are these the types of signing who are going to be able to push us to a playoff place? I’m not convinced.

I think we'll have to wait and see. These signings certainly gives us a lot more room tactically and hopefully some quality in the final third to help us edge out games. I don't think Boro will stop conceding and WBA is a bit of an unknown as well - will Mowbray hit the ground running?

Two massive games now where we really should've most or all our January signings up to speed, but we have shown we can be competitive with almost any team in this division with the players we've had up until this point.

Quite incredible to see some of the reactions to this, people talking about 'happy days' and even one or two applauding Venkys and Rudy.

At best we've signed 2 more loans/short term deals who are going to be here for 3-4 months and 15 games. They've taken over a month since the January window opened to get this 'proven experienced quality' and here we are, 11:30pm on 3rd February, not even certain both have joined and people making out like we've just climbed the north face of the Eiger, not potentially got two short term deals over the line with 2 clubs desperate to be rid of them.

Dismal stuff.

I’m actually stunned. £40m+ brought in over the last few windows.
These 3 will play max 15 games each (Dennis hasn’t played for 1 year!) and people are calling Rudy some sort of messiah.

The club is a disgrace - they’ve already cost us points in January by only bringing in League 1 level players in Foreshaw and Sanderson.
We will fall away as always, barring a miracle from Eustace.

We have been let down by Venkys, Pasha, Waggott and Gestede.

Who is calling Rudy a messiah? Also, regardless of your feelings on the window, how are you bracketing him with Venky’s and Waggott?

Eustace has show he can get the best out of average players so let’s hope these new lads benefit from that.

Without the last ditch signings of Dennis and Woodrow it was looking an abysmal window but for me this salvages it somewhat. All very short term though feels like we are under real pressure to strip any long term costs or contracts.

Don’t know enough about either of them but if it means I don’t have to watch Dolan and Hedges stink up the place for another 20 games it’s ok by me.

Dennis is obviously the headline signing and fair play on that score. Let’s hope he’s available to some degree by mid-Feb.

Beck won’t be here next year so it’s surprising Ribiero isn’t on a longer deal as we will still need a left back / cover next year. By pedigree he could be better than Pickering.

Kargbo is unknown from a low level abroad. He could be shrewd but  I’d be surprised if he turns out anything special. Also surprised how many people think he will be a starter.

Woodrow I know little of his style despite his experience. He’s clearly unwanted by a poor Luton but he’s done well at this level before so could prove some cheap added depth…….….

……..unlike Forshaw, who is an absolute panic move and has looked awful in every appearance. If he had anything left he wouldn’t have been released by Plymouth.

Sanderson made sense as CB cover. I didn’t see the Pompey game but he’s looked a bit iffy in other appearances so far. If either of Hyam or Ba’ath was injured it would still worry me greatly.

The fact practically all of them are here only until summer I think tells us the club are incapable of committing to anything longer term due to the uncertainty of Venkys funding.

Majorly disappointing there is no investment when once again we have a sniff of top 6 come February. From this point it’s another shit show.

From the restrictions which are clearly put on the recruitment team it’s probably a very average window by them, with the inability to replace Baker the big failing.

“Rudy does what Gregg could never” - granted it was from some Twitter melt rather than on here.

Quick Look over on the dark side and there’s talk of a stand being named after him

I would omit Forshaw from the registered 25. Harsh but that's life.

No way is he better than Sigurdsson.

Ohashi, Gueye, Dolan, Hedges, Leonard, Cantwell, Sigurdsson, Woodrow, Kargbo, Dennis with JRC, Beck and Buckley as options and Tyjon and Gilsenan when fit. 16 players vying for the forward 3 plus 1.

Can't complain about a lack of bodies. Whether there are many goals there is another question.

I get that we wanted business done earlier for our January fixtures, I get that we wanted money spent and potential for future sales, I get that we have the same issues in the summer with short term deals

but….

i don’t actually think the business done yesterday is all doom and gloom. Went in wanting pace, goals and championship experience and largely we have addressed that. Riberio is a smart bit of business, Dennis if we can get him up to speed is up there with the best in the league for his position and I’m not as against the Woodrow signing as most, at 30 he still has time to recapture what he had at Barnsley. Scores some absolute beauties and we haven’t had the long range goal threat for a very long time. Yes it didn’t work out for him at Luton but it happens , maybe a move back up north is just what he needs.
forshaw is about 4 years too late to be signing but I get the thinking, it’s experience to see out games.

Sanderson , seems a solid enough backup, certainly likes a tackle , not sure if we will make it permanent but yea fine.

kargbo I don’t really know but I’m interested to see what he can do, looks like he has pace which is good

just need to piss with the wenis we have now and get on with it, our moans and gripes can wait till the seasons end as we see how it pans out. Eustace and the team deserve our support for their efforts already this season, it’s a stark contrast to last year. As another has said I think we are in a fight for 6th, let’s kick on starting tonight

I don’t think that’s right - see below:
