I've just read that Leeds and the Dingles are after Ferguson, but Brighton have made him available for loan.

Same article suggests that he's on £30kpw at Brighton.

It's still not happening.
But if it did, I'd walk down to Ewood and make Waggott a brew at 2pm every day for a week of his choosing.

Never really heard of this Ferguson, but google tells me Fulham, Everton and Leeds and interested so that’s a no go.

It still makes me sick looking at Deniz Undav’s record over the last few years. We actually had him in the building and couldn’t get it done 😫

Yep, Undav would have shot us into the play offs and potentially, back to the promised land.

Makes sense as a long term replacement perhaps...not sure it makes sense as a replacement while Rodri is injured. Adam has been out most the season himself and has just had a setback in his recovery. He also isn't world class yet.

AW is definitely a Guardiola type player but he’s a lock picker, not a lock so I personally don’t see how he is a Rodri replacement. Bernardo maybe . I think we can all agree his ability to see passes others don’t is incredible, his ability to spot and cover danger/space was one of his weak/development areas.

I read Chelsea wanted him

Also saw this and thought that I wonder if our new star number 9 will be announced soon in time for the our game against them 🥴

Why did you wonder that? Were you still half awake? Recent brain trauma? Do you suffer from amnesia, perhaps?

I suspect, we didn't want it doing..

Make sure you mix in a nice hefty dose of strychnine.

That's what we're paying Cantwell apparently.

https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/blackburn-rovers-transfer-fee-details-emerge-as-todd-cantwell-deal-edges-closer/

This talks about Nicko (well connected through his mate Park at the time) reporting his wage here is 'slightly less' than his salary at Rangers. Which seems to generally be reported as being 22-25k from what I can see. So, he almost certainly isn't on 30k. Likely our highest paid player though, probably by some distance given the wages we have shed recently. I'd guess he's on 20k here, personally, despite what 'capology' thinks.

K'inhell thought the Ferguson chat was bollox. Not a day in heaven he's coming here...

I think the Nelson junior on perm at CB. That Godo on the wing and Hamadi from Ipswich is the most realistic window we will get. I like Dennis from forest but that maybe far fetch.

Dennis was on my list also but he hasn’t kicked a ball this season and wages would be double or more of our top earner

that’s the problem we face we don’t/wont pay what’s required to get that 9 we need

al-hamadi would be the most realistic one and even then he’s not a natural 9

al-hamadi

Louie barry

tyler bindon

I’d be happy with that all things considered

hoping for a pleasant surprise but expecting the normal failure

The build up to the window is always a fun time on here. Chaddy calling out anyone who dares to use the previous umpteen windows as evidence that we won’t make the required signings whilst drawing up a list of x number of players or x number of ££ we’ll spend.

When it fails to materialise (again) it’s all roses in the chaddy garden as we must have tried and the club need to be trusted.

The lack of quality signings this window has already been pre planned with the ready made excuse about the new head scout not being in place in time to get the required players through the door.

I have very little confidence we’ll sign anyone of note but SW said the opposite of this in the last fan forum (ie the system is not reliant on any individual).

I expect they’ll have another excuse lined up though.

So your prediction is we won’t sign anyone and it’s because we don’t/didn’t have a head scout in place?

As far as I'm aware, our financial situation is no different from the summer, when we were effectively living off transfer proceeds to pay the milk man.

I'd be surprised, therefore, if we spent more than a few pennies on any permanent signings; loans will be the most likely activity we do.

But here's hoping that the fools in charge do the right thing for once.

It was Gestede who said that the scouting and recruitment system doesn't rely on just one person. At the Fan forum meeting

I predict that we won’t sign anyone of the quality required. Maybe a couple of kids but nobody of note. The excuse from the club will be around formalising the chief scout role, it’s a ready made excuse for them.
