Its not a professional way to handle things.

If we had any semblance of order, we should have known that there was a chance that he wouldnt have been registered, even if he had been registered by default he cant be in the managers plans. He could have been told that, and then the options are to actively seek a move before the window closed, the more likely scenario was to come to an agreement to terminate his contract, or he could even say no I want to stay for the rest of my deal in which case hes got no reason to complain.

Maybe there is some truth in the thought that we were unsure as to whether we'd land a striker and therefore kept our options open with Sigurdsson in case all else failed.

If thats what we did then we were perfectly within our rights to do so. We're not a charity.

Well - we have been in the case of Sigurdsson and he has the bad grace to moan about it.

But why not try to negotiate with Sigurdsson earlier in the window,  inform him that he may not make the squad,  offer him half of his money and then use the other half towards the new striker or another player. Then he could have found a different club outside the window wherever instead of having to restrict himself to leagues where the window is open or whatever.

It's obvious there was no sort of plan, Eustace involvement in the players chosen and signed minimal or non existent.Chaos again

Its a bad look and it won't go unnoticed among players we might be interested in in future.

We were once a tight, friendly family Club, now we're run by a bunch of spivs.

Yep. Cant disagree with that but I suppose that runs the risk of paying off Sigurdsson then failing to land a replacement.

End of the day, we left everything way way too late as always.

Its not about being a charity. Its about communicating with a player prior to a point where he is left in limbo.

Your judgement is clouded because you dont rate the player. I dont rate him either.

In the general scheme of things after what happened to O Brien and Mcguire I dont think this will make a great deal of difference.

Could our reputation get any worse after those two debacles?

Probably not. But I'm looking for improvement, not for our name to be even further muddied.

In fairness even if we only had the 9k a week from his wages it would have got us a better player than Foreshaw or if we are really paying Dennis 20k a week which I doubt 29k per week might have got us a striker ready to go now

I suppose even if we had got the Sigurdsson wages or part of them off the books ,the wages wouldn't have been added to the budget for transfers

Club have just handled it badly,  but hard to sympathise when I'm seeing Sigurdsson posting pics of himself on a night out in Manchester when we are playing Preston in an important game.

I’m not sure I buy into this Cantwell has been poor theory. He’s a playmaker, but he’s playing with Dolan, Hedges and Gueye. A playmaker relies on having options to play off.

And the midfield has been gutted by injuries so he's having to drop really deep to go and get the ball.

If only we'd have brought in a large sum of money over the last 12 months, we could have used it to sign some good midfielders and strikers.

Even if we rip up his contract. Hes very limited in terms of which clubs he can play for this season. Only ones where the transfer window is still open.

Isn't the rumour that he was offered to all and sundry during the transfer window (particularly Scandinavian and Greek teams) and he was turning them all down?

It can't have come as a surprise to him that he was on the chopping block.

It's a disingenuous reaction from a very disappointing player who has taken us for a ride during his time here.

Are you not going to give him a chance?

2 games and far from impress to be honest.

We need a solid Goalkeeper in the summer and sadly we didn't get one for me.

De Lange should have been the one we signed and given we wouldn't pay a couple extra thousands of pounds to sign him.

Other than that, they were plenty of good solid keepers out there.

Too early for me. I support all our players.

I don't see how an entire season of reviews from other fans and it's too early to judge, but 2 games in our shirt when he's spent most of the season getting splinters in his arse and won't have that sharpness that can only come from playing matches, and it's fine to criticise? I didn't think it was like you to judge so early.

Do you rate Pears?
