Hope the "rumours" are correct.

I have him pegged as someone who's fairly ambitious though, not someone like Mowbray who's only aim is to plod on and feather his nest for as long as possible.

especially as the eustace family home is in the midlands,if west brom come sniffing he`s off pronto, like you said,he comes across as ambitious, why would he stop here with the deadlegs behind the scenes unless in a massive change of behaviour they back him and he does get 3/4 quality players

A big question is if he will be allowed to quit or if he would need to pay to leave. Not sure if WBA would be willing to cover that additional expense and the pissing about that the Vs would do (unless he mentions Suhail in a presser to speed things up…)

Us longer in the tooth fans have seen it all so many times before in the pre Jack Walker era, as soon as we start doing well, the manager gets poached which is probably why we're so twitchy.

We have multi billionaire owners now though so you'd think there'd be nothing to worry about......

He must be the only agent that’s ever said that.

Should have added that this was around links to stoke/west Brom No doubt he wouldn’t shut the door completely. I’m just hoping that he’s that invested in where he has taken us so far that he won’t stop until he feels he can’t do anymore. Owners not investing could bring that date forward

Venkys would expect him to honour his contract. Wouldn’t put it past them to put a block till that date if he decides to walk

They could do that but we'd be stuck with an extremely unhappy manager in the meantime.

In the real world WBA (or whoever) would just agree compensation with Venky's

yes based on my opinion. I see no-one who would have improved us.

No quality striker has moved yet or left winger with pace.

the window has opened 3 days ago and the first 2 weeks is slow cos clubs won't sell players until they get one in normally or others reasons. Yes, we would loved 3 signings in we wanted on day 1 of the window like Football Manager 24 but real life isn't that way

We WILL presumably bring some players in though (irrespective of what everyone thinks of their ability)

Why not bring them in now to help the squad?

Put him on gardening leave and leave it to whoever else. I understand what you’re saying with compensation etc but this is venkys. They are not normal

There's no way Eustace gets a new deal here. It would need Waggott or shadow man to get hold of the Pune poison, which itself is probably close to impossible, and then somehow explain to them why they should be committing to an increased salary and longer contract for a bloke who is already under contract until May 2026, who they've never met.

We know how these cretins work and it's just not going to happen.

We all know why it makes sense to extend it now but the lowlife would simply expect him to honour his original deal and await a decision in May 2026 as to whether they are offering him another one (see Mowbray).

Then of course there's the question of whether Waggott and Shadow Man are going to do a single damn thing that involves asking the owners for anything, or instead will just keep plodding on as they are. Cushy numbers are hard to give up and going to India requesting things might threaten that.

He (and his agent) must be weighing up in their own minds whether or not he can afford to give Waghail the benefit of the doubt and leave it until the end of the window.

If he does and it's the usual predictable damp squib or disaster the WBA will probably have been filled by then and it may be a while before a job of similar stature arises again.

Nothing says transfer window like getting updates not that Nixon has linked us to someone. But that Nixon is going to link us to someone and we need a build up of anticipation as if someone has actually signed and ready to be announced.

He linked us to McBurnie last week or the week before. Turned out to be bollocks.

Over the years or January transfer plan tends to be to go to Everton, Liverpool, Villa, Brighton and ask them who they have available that they want to see playing every week in the Championship who they will cover the vast majority of wages on.

Some have worked, some have been shite.

It has never been enough to get us over the line and into the top 6 because you need more and you need better and you ain't getting that if you are unwilling to pay a fee or more than a small % of their wages.

Doubt he will have spoken directly to Venky's though. To the extent he has been told anything its probably come from Waggott.

But its Venkys that he will be giving the benefit of the doubt, or not.

His happiness will depend on if he is backed. That is 100% on them, no nonsense about not being asked, if no reasonable budget is forthcoming, then he would be more likely to jump ship, nothing to do with the lapdog messengers.
