Do you accept that Eustace wants experience players who can hit the ground running and zero bedding time?

We can do permanent transfers but down to cost and budgets. These players being linked are players Eustace wants. Do you accept this?

If Schlupp, Kent and Hanley are genuine targets, are they likely to hit the ground running? None of them have played much football recently. I think Hanley has also recently had injury issues.

If we have more money, we stand a better chance of getting better players. Im not saying focus on signing players for the future, it was just a side point that years of budget cutting and no reinvestment has left us sorely lacking in assets.

I have no idea if Eustace specifically endorses any signings we go on to make, no one knows. Obviously he should and he probably will. But I also anticipate that the choices put before him will be a very limited one due to a lack of budget, so it might have a feeling of best of a bad bunch. Say we sign Schlupp for example, that might be the option Eustace chooses from a list put before him of other potential loans. But if we had 2 or 3 million to spend on that position, that would open up a far bigger range of options and potentially change the choice he would make.

I dont think we are currently lacking much in terms of experience, we have brought quite a lot in already. What we sorely lack is pace and goals. I think if Eustace/Gestede was backed rather than just forced to scrape for loans then we would stand a much better chance of bringing in quality, with the added bonus of bringing in players who could potentially benefit us longer term.

I'd suggest that's an unwise and untenable strategy. There are very few players who both fit our budget and have experience in this league or higher, and can also get goals. Riis might be the only one, and I'm not convinced he's in our budget. Especially since PNE will be reluctant to sell to us. We can want those sorts of players all we like, but with the money we have it's hard to see us getting any strikers like that. Other positions it may be workable, but anyone who is scoring goals at this level comes at a premium. If we stick to that, more likely our 'English experience' is going to end up being a youth loanee from a Prem club. Which may turn out to be great, but it doesn't really fit the criteria of being sure they'll hit the ground running (I'd certainly take Barry though from Villa, or Cannon, maybe the only such players I'm aware of who stands a decent chance of hitting the ground running, but we're unlikely to get to the front of the queue for those).

There are great deals to be found abroad, look at Tronstad. Didn't take long to bed in either.

Agreed. If you loan someone from this country, Schlupp is an example of this. Even though they may not need to settle in terms of being in the country, they are going to take time to get up to speed as they likely wont have played much football lately.

The 2 ways to open up the range of potential signings are obviously to have more money which presumably again wont be the case, or to at least consider options outside of the box, potentially from abroad.

Although we do need cover defensively, the main area we need to strengthen is in attack and I dont think experience is a primary necessity. If anything, we need energy and pace.

Schlupp is training with a Premier league squad and on the bench for them and has gotten some minutes, he will be fit

Cabn play left back ,centre mid ,left wing I'd agree he isn't the answer in terms of goals but he isn't slow, he still has pace that will hurt defences at this level.

For me he would be a very good loan signing and I can see why Eustace would want him

Brilliant comedy on X today. Blackburn fan, sports a club agent calling venkys out. Stating invest or sell. He’s even suggested he knows 12 investors who would be willing to take us on. Someone offered £25 million to take us on but venkys want £100. Not taking this seriously but it’s about time someone called them out

They want 100m when they bought us for less than half that and that was when we was PL with everything going right

Lucky if we sign anyone with this lot in charge no matter who anyone wants

More chance we get bought by Michael Scott than by Scott Michaels.

Absolutely spot on. Waggott and Suhail must be pissing their sides in the knowledge that there isn’t a set of supporters like those down at Ewood anywhere in England.

Whatever downsizing measures they bring in, Jackanory stories about fax machines and not pressing send buttons, utter bullcrap on transfer budgets, etc. etc., the fans do next to nothing. They (the hierarchy at the club) couldn’t have it any easier.

Where is the youth of Blackburn and East Lancashire? These should be the ones with the energy and drive to do something about this continued mess. Problem is, the ones who know all about the shenanigans that went on, ten or more years ago, have been brow beaten almost into submission and the younger fan base, who must be the ones to bring about change, don’t really know what went on.

Unless something is done, the status quo will remain. I know the hand wringers will be replying to this post within minutes but I can virtually guarantee one thing. Five, even ten years from now, folk will still be bleating about the situation which will not have changed one bit.

Absolutely 100%.

I've said for a long time that the fans are not doing enough/anything about this. It's actually quite embarrassing.

The likes of maggot and the shadow man should be needing a full security detail just to get within a hundred miles of Ewood. Instead they get to walk through the carpark unchallenged and swan about in the hospitality suite.

Anyone that believes their cock and bull stories about not pressing the right button or just 'forgetting' to submit the paperwork on time is a complete chump.

It's been the same thing year after year after year after year after year with them, when are the fans going to actually stand up and say no more?

there ar`nt going to be many protests with the club near the play offs,i thought it would kick off this season as i in no way expected us to be in 7th place after christmas.credit to eustace for working a near miracle with  this group of players to get them where they are,i thought he was a pillock at times last season, but fair play to him,he`s showed he deserves a better club than this shambles of one

Versatility is useful but I feel like its going to be instead of getting 2 players for 2 different positions, we need a winger and left back cover, you cant just sign 1 player to cover both because if hes needed at left back we are then left short out wide again.

I just dont think hes the type of player we need, more of a utility man than someone to make a real difference in attack.

He also wont be match fit so he will need some time to get up to speed if the argument for him is that he can slot straight in.

Thinking of hibernating until the end of Jan. Wake me up when we've signed our free agent and two bargain loans

We all fall for it every window...If we haven't got anyone through before the weekend then, then I'll fear the worst.

Eustace has said we've got money to spend, I doubt it'll be much, but that's giving me a glimmer of hope.

Schlupp has had near enough 300 apps in the Premier League and has won a promotion from the Championship

He is an international footballer

Oh and he won the Premier League

“Utility man”…whatever. He’s obviously a good player and better than we have so if the opportunity is there to bring him, do it

Didn't realise he was part of Leicester's title win. Interesting titbit in his wiki, albeit a quote from 8 years ago: Former teammate Andrej Kramarić once said of Schlupp, "I've never played with a more powerful player than Jeffrey Schlupp, such power and speed like I've never seen before."[46]

Hopefully he has retained a good portion of that power and speed.

Hanley is a big dumb ox of a player who is past it. We have a few older players, who are better.

He's no better than Mcfadzean and has a recent injury record to rival Gallagher. Would be a disastrous signing.
