For Baker? Doesnt play the same position.

75 Premier League games in the same position

I would argue Schlupp is better on the left of a midfield 3 than in a 2 man midfield though (if he were to be used in central midfield rather than wide)

This window is final straw now, if the correct players ain’t brought in we really are hopeless and not worth paying into from a fans perspective anymore just for the same shit again. Boycotts setting record low attendances would have to be considered

Yes all doom and gloom. Let’s all not bother attending matches. I guess its the club’s fault that we currently have six senior players unavailable through injury or a loan player is recalled.

Eustace has stated he needs players so let’s see what transpires before we commit harakiri!

“We have some money to spend”

Offload 2 players earning circa 15-20k a week (Baker and Siggy)

Pay a million in 10 instalments for a player on 5-10 k per week, dress up a significant outlay and move on 😂

Personally I couldn't really see that much difference between Baker and Buckley... So don't think Baker going is an major impact quality wise, but we are more vulnerable to injury.

If money is tight I would be tempted to use the wages to top up the budget for a striker as that is what we really really need. A bit risky if we get another centre mid injury, but think it's more risky not to boost our striker options.

Noticed the Lancashire Telegraph haven't even reported on Baker's departure yet, there should've been something ready to publish immediately upon it being announced.

Bloody useless they are!

But yes, about an hour after it was official

The news has only broken publicly just now but I  presume the Club will have known about it for a while, I'd assume Stoke did us the courtesy of tipping us off in advance, maybe had to give us 28 days prior notice as per regulations.

So we can expect the blue touch paper  to be lit any time now then.............

Buckley is much worse than Baker, proven by Eustace picking him ahead of JB in every single fixture that a Travis/Tronstad replacement has been necessary.

For me he’s gone backwards since the loan to Sheffield Wednesday and previous long term knee injury. Too slow on the ball and doesn’t see the bigger picture straight away leading to either being dispossessed or our attacks gaining any traction.

I thought he was very poor off the bench v Dingles, not what you’d expect of a homegrown player.

No matter what noise comes from the club, we’re clearly still operating on the one in/one out basis. No signings made yet, but Baker, Sigurdsson and Dolan all being linked with/completing moves away.

Eustace asked for more bodies, he’ll be lucky to get replacements for ones leaving.

We’ve seen this script before, a blind man on a galloping horse can see how this ends.

What choice would we have ? Same valve every time, left short ever season in both quality and depth something has to give

It's been the only answer since day 1. Hit them in the wallet and they may eventually get the message

100% this

we are losing players and just replacing so not actually adding to the squad/depth required

it’s so so obvious it’s beyond belief that anybody can see or think otherwise

the bottom line is that whisky it’s only 8 days into the window the fact we have lost a player (not including injuries) and haven’t already had people lined up this early is nothing short of shambolic

there will be certain targets ie loan players that might take that bit longer I do get that but it’s the same nonsense each window just a different voice to try and sugar coat the shitshow behind the scenes

Have to starve them out. I’ve never boycotted only distanced myself by picking and choosing when I felt like going but if this window turns out ugly again I don’t think I could hack the same cycle again. Boycotting would have to be considered, protesting with bed sheets does nothing

The whole thing would drive you insane if you sat and thought about it for long enough.

Infuriating hrightow everything has been run into the ground didn't they see what our club can offer it's fans such as the Derby, one of England's greatest rivalries between two old original teams????  We have a rich history and intrinsic part of the world's most popular game right here in the palm of their hands. Throw some money at us for cryin out loud 🥺🥺

To be fair, to them we're probably just a bottomless money pit but the only chance they have of getting a decent chunk of their money back is for us to be promoted so you'd think that in itself would be the motivation to provide the manager with some clever and strategic investment in players.

If you own a Championship football club, you will naturally spend more than you bring in. It doesnt deserve any credit, its something you know going into it and its something that if you arent willing to do then you need to sell.

Preston recently announced that their owners had to put in an eight figure amount to cover their losses again, its widespread across the league.
