v Sheffield Utd (h) - 2/11/2024

Recommended Posts

A bit of a side-track but the 2-3 loss in Mar 2023 was one of the more exciting games under JDT. We played fantastic that day and i really thought we were going to win until their 2nd goal went in. Devasting to lose after leading a stronger team and outplaying them for some long and i think the team lost momentum after that otherwise we would definitely have secured a play-off spot.

Who would you rather have there? Someone who can 'press', or someone who can create and put the ball in the chuffin' net?

I stated my view and think how Eustace plays his number 10 and wide players it's the right approach for Cantwell to drift into those spaces and not started there

I do understand. Thanks for the patronising comment though. But again, it doesnt mean that I share the exact same opinion as him.

And especially considering our recent attacking record, I think its fair game not to automatically agree with him.

Good for you.

Amario Cozier-Duberry out until after "International Break" which gets more recognition than school's half term break.

FFS, have we had more than 45 minutes from this lad yet. Sod’s law that as soon as he is deemed ready to play from the start, he’s bloody injured and our wait for a proper winger continues.

From what I have seen, ACD is not what I call a proper winger. He looks to be almost the same as Markanday . I hope when he does start a game that he proves me wrong.

i`de send him back to brighton, out for another 3/4 weeks  then another 3/4 games to get match fit,he is`nt going to be available until january, write this one off and try to get another loan in,am i right in assuming you can still loan players in when the transfer window is shut???

I don't think so. We have a history of not being able to send injured loanees back.

Tough game, but it is for them aswell.

Head says 1-1, heart says 3-1.

Tough game for them if we play to our potential. We could do with 6pts from our 2 home games, to make up for our poor away form. 4-0 Rovers.

No you can't loan players outside the transfer window. Not been able too for years now.

I think he's played 71 minutes in the league for us.

He possibly arrived unfit and/or injured, it's not unknown for us to make that sort of signing.

A waste of a place and money. Typical.

Toughest test yet at Ewood, suspect it'll be our first home defeat as well.

My preferred team:

                  Pears

 JRC     Batth     Hyam     Beck

           Travis    Tronstad

Dolan    Cantwell    Sigurdsson

                Ohashi

Dunno why, but I just feel like Cantwell and Siggy playing alongside each other could be magic. Hopefully Harry Leonard makes the bench, it'll be good to see him back on the pitch soon.

Ultimately though I think Sheff United will just have too much for Rovers to deal with so I'll go with a narrow hard fought 1-2 defeat.

I have yet to see him take a defender on, get to the byline and cross the ball ( which is what is needed). He always cuts inside onto his favoured left foot to shoot tamely. Markandy at least scored a few doing just that. He is yet to impress me although the potential is there to do so. Let’s hope he impresses when he gets another chance.

I wonder if it’s time to give Siggy a go as the middle of a front 3. He’s the best finisher at the club by a country mile. He can’t be any worse up there than Yuki and Gueye have been over the last month

Do we play a front three ?

i like that formatation or play one striker with siggy or cantwell playing behind in a 4/4/1/1

unfortunately for lovers of attacking football, eustace is very pragmatic and will try to stop us losing rather than go out and attack, not that we can complain to much,we are 6th in the table

id`e forgot about that,we had the useless lump poveda in the treatment room for months

I don't think he deserves lump, he was brilliant in the home game against Sheff Utd then got badly injured next game.

The talent was definitely there, such a shame when a player with talent gets lost to the game through injury.
