Not much you can really do there.

Two fortunate goals (JRC cleared to an offside man and they won the ping pong battle for the second), but they just had better players across the field.

Heard boos at full time - I just don't understand that. Only Beck, Tronstad and Cantwell would get in their side.

You expect effort and bravery.  Talent doesn't always come out on top. Most of these players are rubber dinghy men

Very little to be positive about after that. At least Beck completely commits and looks destroyed at the end of games, you can't ask much more from him. I'd be happy to never see Buckley, Gueye or Brittain play again if that's all they're going to offer.

You don't understand people getting frustrated at 2 solid months of half-arsed, low effort performances?

It’s not low effort, it’s low quality.

I made the point when we played Plymouth that they had far better attackers than ours. That’s where we are as a club thanks to Venkys. We have L1 attackers.

Totally disagree the goals were 'fortunate'. JRC literally played the goalscorer in. Brittain completely messed up and gave away possession whilst Pears pushed the ball in front of him straight to Campbell. Both totally avoidable imo.

Defence is crap, as it has been for a long time.

Attack is worse than last season. As expected before a ball was kicked, Hedges, Dolan, Gueye and Ohashi are very poor attacking options.

Same points as last season at this stage.

Disappointing but I expected it. Waggott and Venkys don't run the club to win, they just see what they can get away with year after year.

A sobering thought..If we do start to tumble down the League we dont have Smozdics to pull us out the shyte this time.

I think the difference between JDT and Eustace is the the latter is more pragmatic and has set up a team to snatch points here and there to keep us safe (only just). JDT didn't give a fuck about us and was playing a style of play that was there to get him a better job. Just like Kompany did with Burnley last year.

Truth is it worked for both of them.

Poor.

We have a total lack of quality, Cantwell and Beck aside. Every time we get the ball we lose it and only one or two brave enough on the ball to make something happen. JRC gifting them a first goal didnt help much.

We could play until November next year and not score - did we have a shot on target?

Gueye is extremely bad.

The reality is dawning. We are a bang average Championship side

How Gueye plays is beyond me. Makes Gallagher look like Messi!!

His youtube highlight reel was pretty poor so who the hell decided he was good enough?

Yeah that was pretty sobering. Sheffield United showed their quality and didn't really have to get out of 2nd gear. Rovers huffed and puffed until the 2nd goal went in and then seemed to go out of their way to try and concede a few more.

Positives:

  • Cantwell is very good, didn't have the best of games but still stood out from the rest. He actually tries to play the ball forwards most of the time whereas most others seem utterly incapable or scared of doing so.
  • Ohashi work rate and always wanting the ball is to be admired.
  • Pears had a pretty good game overall.

Negatives:

  • They don't look at all like scoring anytime soon. That NEEDS to change on Wednesday night.
  • JRC shocking clearance for the 1st goal.
  • Gueye becoming more of a hindrance than a help. Needs a goal...or to just do something in general that actually benefits the team.
  • Dolan at his absolute worst for the most part today. He is like the Antony of the Championship, all the little step overs and turns that only seem to serve the purpose of slowing down and nullifying Rovers own attacks
  • Hedges, he's just not good enough is he. Runs about a fair bit, but lacks any kind of bravery. Case in point being the chance in the first half, just launch yourself at that and its at least an effort.
  • The subs seemed to completely nip any chance Rovers had in the bud quite instantly. Buckley comes on for Travis and plays like its a league cup game against a League Two side....I guess that's just his level. Gueye as mentioned above is a problem rather than a positive right now. No amount of grinning can change that. Other subs did so little that they aren't worth a mention.

There is absolutely no shame in losing to Sheffield United, a team with a far bigger budget and with some genuine premier league quality, or at least top 2 in the championship quality (Hamer coming off the bench, I mean that says it all). This game does not define the season and tells us all what we already knew as to how far Rovers are off threatening the playoffs / promotion spots...but the games against teams of a similar standard that we have coming up in Stoke and Cardiff are crucial.

Meh.

All of Eustace, for me… and has been for the last few weeks. The bloke has no plan b if we go 1 down.

I don’t think the squad’s that bad, but the way we’re setting up to play, is making everyone else look like world beaters.

I have not been able to watch a single interview of his yet. I felt as though he was brought in as a nodding dog and have not changed my opinion.

A very negative manager, who plays a game as dull as dishwater.

I agree there is no shame losing to Sheff U.  Not making their keeper pull off a save in 98 minutes at home is shameful though.
