Really? You don't understand what Eustace expected from the number 10 and this is to press the ball with the striker but also drop deeper and help out in midfield like Dolan does game after game

I do understand. Thanks for the patronising comment though. But again, it doesnt mean that I share the exact same opinion as him.

And especially considering our recent attacking record, I think its fair game not to automatically agree with him.

Whilst people are flapping about goals, or lack of - the blades have scored 2 less than us this season and we've only scored 1 less than the twats in second.

1 nil home win, Travis

Although our overall goal tally is still quite healthy, we scored 12 in 5 which has been followed by 4 in 7. Obviously you could spin it that the first 5 games is closer to the norm, but I remain unconvinced personally.

The assumption when a big goalscorer goes is that everyone will chip in to replace those goals, but there is a reason why goalscorers go for the biggest money. I dont see many players in our team with many goals in them.

We needed to sign some quality up front and that area has gone from excitement to causing some real concerns. We signed a big number 9 who clearly is not a goalscorer and offers more threat to row Z, it doesnt even feel like he is capable of getting near double figures. Ohashi does seem to be able to nick a goal so may well end up our top scorer but offers little else so how much game time will he actually get?

Beyond that, who is likely to really score a decent amount to chip away at all of those goals we have lost?

To point out the obvious, if you don't concede as many, you don't need to score as many.

I'd imagine that the back 7 is here to stay, it's just as well Eustace knows how to set up defensively,it isn't as if we can go to outscore teams with 3's and 4's.

Right now, with the squad as it is and until players (hopefully) acclimatise to the Championship, it has to be our best chance of success.

Let's see Leonard in the match day squad ASAP, he could have a chance, pity he got injured when he did.

                   Pears

Brittain  Batth  Hyam.  Beck

            Travis.    Sonny

  JRC.    Dolan.     Cantwell

                  Gueye

Subs - Toth, McFadz, Pickering, Buckley, Baker, Hedges, Siggy, Weimann, Ohashi

Back 7 picks itself. I would pick Cantwell and JRC on the left and right respectively because they have Beck and Brittain behind them who will push forward and allow them to invert and be completely free.

To those arguing about Cantwell. He’s EXACTLY where he should be. The role he has gives him the greatest freedom and opportunity to find space. The #10 role under JE is often picked up by the defensive midfielder and does more defensive work than Cantwells on the left.

We have been good at home this season and look very solid defensively. Going for a 1-0 win with Ohashi on the scoresheet.

Fed up of these 1230 kick offs already!

Our of our twelve league matches so far only five have been 3 o'clock Saturday kick offs. And in November we only have one 3 o'clock game out of the six scheduled. On Tuesday last week there were 31 games shown live by Sky. I'd love to see the viewing figures for them.

Considering how poor we have been going forward in the last 7 games, the suggestion is that we dont continue to play exactly how we are currently doing.

Cantwell often leaves Beck isolated because he doesnt track back, so the idea that he will do less defensive work on the left is flawed. From an attacking perspective, he has said that he prefers to play centrally and that a move there at Rangers led to an improvement in his form. He has shown flashes of his obvious ability but playig him centrally could be the key to get more from him.

I've only managed 3 games this season down to the ridiculous Sky scheduling. Anyone who is involved in youth or adult football will no doubt be in a similar boat to me where you're having to pick between playing/coaching or attending games. Totally flies in the face of the nonsense that is the 3pm TV blackout when games are scheduled at 12.30 that directly clashes with grassroots football, etc.

A shame we’re resorting to kick off times to offset the debate about how poor we are up front and whether Cantwell should play as a #10 or #11  (despite the fact he has #8 on his shirt).

Unfortunately early kick off times are the price we have to pay for the Sky money but at least if we can’t attend we can watch on TV.

Yup, 1+1 is obviously 3, right?

The plan for Cantwell is sound. We just haven’t got all the parts moving yet. On chances created we would’ve had another 4pts (WBA and Watford). As a team focused on defending properly, we aren’t going to create loads of chances. More importantly, the main reason we’ve scored less in the last few matches is because a) we’ve played better teams and b) because we haven’t been as ruthless in front of goal.

As for the last sentence, I’ll keep faith in our manager to make that decision. But ta, 👍🏼

I've only missed watching 2 Rovers matches this season. Saturday will be the 4th game in a row on US TV. It's purely selfish of me but 12.30pm UK kick off's are perfect. The game is over by 9.30am so I still have my whole Saturday ahead of me.

Yes, I am fully aware of the inconveniences it puts on those who attend matches and have other commitments.

Why do you give your desired 11 before every game if you just suspend opinion because the manager knows better?

We have scored 4 in 7. So its fair to suggest that a change might make us more attacking.

West Brom had the better chances against us. But how could we have had 4 more points from 2 games in which we collected 1 point?

Back in my day a big crowd at Ewood was 29-30 thousand.
