He cops a lot of flak but he shouldn't be starting every single match as the main man. He's a good impact player and has his uses but he's way above his station thanks to the deliberate underfunding of the whole club.

On the Boring point. I'm not bothered about that but I didn't find the previous 3 games before Sheffield United game boring. It's about picking points and Eustace won't go over attacking too early in games. He takes pragmatic approach which is right way with this squad. 

 

Yes I would give Dolan a new 3 contract. Hedges probably a 1 year contract. Both still have qualities but both have dipped in form

Your optimism is great, 7th now, let's see at the end of if January.  We seem to be easy to play against.  Can't score and gifting goals, not usually a good combo.

There is some connection.

Prior to Cantwell coming into the team, we had JRC/Weimann on the right, Dolan central and Hedges left, whilst not a great deal of quality going forward, they all tracked back and helped our full backs out by not leaving them exposed, and they were also playing on there "correct" side without having to cut inside all the time.

Bringing Cantwell onto the left has definitely upset that dynamic, time and time again against Swansea Beck was being left exposed, at one point Beck went ballistic at him for casually jogging back while he was up against it. Did the same on Saturday against these.

No doubt that Cantwell is a quality player, but for me he needs moving central so he doesn't have to get involved as much tracking back, because he isn't going to do it.

Hedges left, Cantwell central, and Dolan/JRC on the right is what I would go with if we are keeping this system.

We aren't easy to play against. Sheffield United quality is just better than us. 

If you offer me a top half finish at the end of the season now I would be taking it

I dont think that happily taking a league position up to 4 places below our current placing suggests high confidence in the team.

We can be difficult to break down. Going forward we are easy to play against due to a lack of quality.

The last game? Yes. Watford we created a few chances whilst Watford created very little. West Brom each team created a couple of good chances each.

I wasnt dismissing your expectations. I was saying that seeing as you would take anywhere in the top half, I am guessing you dont have faith in a play off push.

Who knows whether we be in the playoffs spot but I think we will be top half this season. 

So what are your season expectations and where will finish?
