Ohashi is showing up quite well his movement has been very good and he's been finding space well but we need another forward playing close to and off him or vice versa.

The two so called wingers are dire.

You can see how this is going to go. Having failed to capitalise on our initial dominance, we'll get sucker punched at some point.

I’m talking generally. We’ve had an ok start tonight but in terms of individuals performances I don’t see anyone who is doing overly well under JE and I imagine that’s down to his style of play/ tactics.

There’s a huge technical gulf across the team, which a really good system can mask. I actually see it tonight as playing 4-4-2 out of possession and 3-4-3 with the ball and I don’t hate it. It is something that needs a lot of work clearly, but I don’t hate it for us at home against the likes of Stoke

Hedges is no worse than anyone else. Get off his back.

He's shocking every week and has done the square root of fuck all ever since he joined the Club.

Picks up his wage for nothing like quite a few over the years.

I think it’s a fair comparison. Mowbray also had those players and didn’t improve them like JDT did.

BBD came good under Mowbray.

Szmodics never played for Mowbray.

Wharton never played for Mowbray (I think)

Factually inaccurate comparison.

Christ that was lucky.

Sort of side note, but relevant there, I wish Pears wouldn't over-commit to his near post. Does it nearly every time.

Fucks sake little things like that annoy the hell out of me. Hyam with back to goal and no-one around him just hoofs it back over his head to no-one. What's the point? Just bring the ball down and play a simple pass, keep possession.

Brereton was there under Mowbray, he didn’t reach his best performances until JDT came in and he played under him.

szmodics came from Peterborough at around age 26/27, never performed like he did until playing under JDT  - he’s said himself in interviews JDT is the best manager he’s had who improved him as a player

a Wharton - exactly, Mowbray didn’t necessarily see how good he was. His opportunity came through JDT

Nothing about that comparison is factually incorrect

I can't believe Pears hasn't had a howler since Toth arrived

You just know the script for the second half now...

Yeh I don't think there's been outright howlers since then, unless my memory is failing me. But there have definitely been goals he was at fault for.

I think that's been a really good first 30 minutes, with the other 15 not being too shabby either.
Ironically, Stoke should be a goal up with the one attack they've had.

Cantwell is superb and he's not even fully match fit yet.

Some of the football in that first 30 reminded me of the best stuff under JDT, particularly with the fullbacks taking up the wide positions.

We do need to win this though if we have any ambitions of achieving anything this season.
