We know about the misses late on, but there's other elements that piss me off from yesterday.

First goal. Travis is coming back from behind play and can see everyone in front of him. You can see the eventual goalscorer in front of him.

So what's he now doing here. He's just run into space, not looking and god knows what he pointing at. It's no wonder the guy has so much time and space to turn and shoot.

Then for the chance they had shortly after which Pears saves, watch Britain. The minute they break over the half way line he is  just jogging back. He breaks into a quicker trot briefly and then just gives up. Shocking attitude. We know from the final days of JDT that he was one of the first in the rubber dinghy.

Like to point out that for all the ability that Cantwell has, he too blazed high and wide with a clear shot of goal in the first half. Also I also think a reason he is at a middle of championship team is his severe lack of pace, just like the rest of the team.

And when I say lack of pace in the team it isn't just physical it is in thought too. Passes seen to slow, pace of pass, decisions when to move or tackle it is just all too slow.

In a nutshell that, I believe is the real issue. Pace isn't about being able to run 100 metres in 10 seconds. It's more about speed of thought, quick passing, vision and not taking too many touches. We are so easy to play against most of the time as we allow teams to get back into their defensive shape as we pass the ball across the back four and short passes into midfield ad nauseam. This is the fundamental difference between Tomasson and Eustace for me. I really don't mind what style we play it we are getting results. Questions are asked when an almost one dimensional way of playing doesn't yield results. The accusation levelled against Tomasson by many was that he had no plan B. Eustace is in real danger of that label being attached to him too. I really thought we were going to see a variation on this last night as in the first twenty minutes the long diagonal ball looked the most likely source. After that period I don't think we played another one.
