This may seem abit rogue but I’m not sure how anyone can look past a switch to a 3-5-2 set up. I really like the look of:

Pears

Hyam Bath Pickering

JRC Travis Tronstad Beck

Cantwell

Gueye Ohashi

For me it just seems so well balanced. Let JRC and Beck provide the width and put the ball the ball in box meanwhile Ohashi and Cantwell playing off Gueye has a lot of potential.

It’s been clear for a while that our wingers are no where near good enough which has led our attacking threat to be pretty much nil. This set up gives us a greater presence up top and means neither Gueye or Ohashi will be isolated - which they have constantly been this season.

I honestly back Gueye. We have not been playing to his strengths - only then can we judge him.

On paper it looks good but we've really struggled to make it work this season. When we've switched to a back three we lost the midfield.

Almost forgot this game was happening.

I don’t imagine many changes from the weekend - Eustace seems to think we played well. He also doesn’t seem to be the most tactically savvy.

Hedges and Dolan again and I think Gueye will get the nod over Ohashi.

0-1 Stoke.

We make few chances but those we do create are in the must score/really should score categories which are really dispiriting to players and fans alike when we miss badly.

Don't care if it is an ugly fluke, a soft penalty or a worldie og, please can we have a break and score from it (or two or more) tonight?

Stoke likely to be awkward opponents but not man for man better all over the pitch the way the Blades were.

It's a terrible feeling when you know you are going to struggle to score. Puts huge pressure on all involved. It then feels catastrophic when you go one nil down.

I think our most expensively acquired non-scoring forwards were Blake, Davies, Ward and Ostenstad. I think we waxed about 15 million on that useless collection.

I dont want to, but i guess I should cut the current guys a bit of slack. Low cost purchases, new to the league, starved of service, struggling to adapt. Useless nevertheless.

Another low scoring affair. 1-0 either way.

Bad lineup, was hoping Gueye could bully Phillips today, worried about Cannon

At least he dropped JRC and Dolan. If we don't win tonight, then the only thing left  to try is a change of formation, maybe two strikers.
