Our ability to survive is going to be heavily dependant on squad goals from players like Weimann, Cantwell, Dolan which sums up how hard it's going to be with the squad we have.

Ohashi and Gueye are going to be lucky to get to 5-10 goals between them in my opinion, we have no Szmodic/Armstrong/Brereton this time around.

Ohashi has 4 league goals as it is, I expect / hope him to at least double that tally by the end of the season. Gueye on the other hand...we'll be lucky if he scores at all, so you are probably bang on with the 5-10 goals estimate.

There is definitely room for someone to grab the bull by the horns in the squad. None of Szmodics, Brereton or Armstrong looked capable of that at first but they all came good  after a period of time. Lets hope that there is someone in this current group that can do the same.

Someone mentioned on the Cardiff thread suggested playing Weimann as the number 9. I honestly think that's not a bad shout at all. Switch Weimann with Ohashi and I think you've got more chance of someone getting on the end of chances as he did on Saturday.

Call me old fashioned but I think less than 10 goals in a season is fucking shit for a main striker.

The last 2 games have given me massive hope that we will stay up combined with the dross of the championship. Having seen a quarter of the season play out I think there are a few teams worse than us.

2 of the promoted teams look poor. Cardiff are a mess. 2 teams have big name players who are crap at management and Preston look to be on a downwards trajectory. QPR don't look great and Stoke and Sheff Weds haven't kicked on.

By my reckoning if we beat the worst 6 teams home and away we are virtually there safety wise. Granted we haven't and won't do that but I'd suspect we'd get a strong return off the worst 6 and surprise wins like Boro and Leeds would make up for any deficit. After that it's not too many points extra to survive. So looks like another season in the championship.

Odds will be a damn sight higher after those 3 wins on the trot. We're looking up not down at the moment.

Reading the thread for the first time, it's amazing what 3 weeks will do in football.

We look a solid team at the moment but things can change quickly.

We already have two first choice defenders out for a season/half season and any more injuries could quickly cause a crisis.

We have bucked the trend lately but still concerned about our lack of attacking threat/goal scoring.

I think we can be cautiouslly optimistic about avoiding relegation at this point though based on our results and performances.

Close it down folks.

Don’t tempt fate 🤣🤣🤣

Would have to be a serious capitulation from here though. A few other teams looking pretty troubled too:

- Oxford (1pt in last 5)

- Hull (1pt in last 5) - although I reckon these will be fine

- Plymouth (2pts in last 5)

- Derby (2pts in last 5)

- Cardiff (2pts in last 5)

- Stoke (2pts in last 5)

Can’t all get 15pts from last 5 eh.

Shame Nob End won last night.
