I've got to say even in our clean sheet games Batth probably should have cost us a goal or two. He looks clumsy and a bit past it, got away with a few already this season. Phillips on the other hand put in an impressive performance last night.

Again, the compensation received for Phillips should have been spent on a centre back. When was the last time we spent money on a centre half?

Hyam? Shocking stuff.

We are where we are due to receiving funds frequently and not reinvesting them in the first 11, that is on the owners.

Without Carter we look really weak in the centre of defence. We must have the least aggressive centre halves in those two in the Championship. Cannon was beating Hyam in the air so often last night and between them they are pedestrian. I would slot McFadzean in between them on Saturday to keep it tight and deny Cardiff any space.

I can see how understandably desperate people have become when you see the players that are being suggested as we scrape the barrel.

McFadzean hasnt played a league minute and is approaching the age of 38. Sigurdsson is now injured but hes been suggested despite being shit throughout his time here. Buckley keeps getting suggested, that cant be on his own performances. Leonard is mentioned, he wasnt up to it last year and missed a sitter last night.

We only have three fit centre halves and something radical needs to be done. Are you happy to carry on conceding goals? McFadzean can play in a five if we are sitting in like he did at Leicester and the second half at Leeds.

Out of interest what would you do.

The point was that those are the sort of options we are looking at it when we need to change things. It wasnt a criticism of fans suggesting those players, it just shows how weak our squad is.

We needed a more mobile centre back instead of McFadzean, especially with Batth coming in.

As for what I would do, I would only consider a back 3 if Beck is fit and put Pickering to left centre back.

If Beck isn’t fit we could play Hedges there ?

There are certainly options whether you agree with them or not. Mobility isn't key when playing in a back five particularly when playing deep. I think you would agree that changes should be made and that appears to be the general consensus. However the man that matters most might not see it that way.

Don't expect us to take anything from this game so might as well try Toth in goal and see how he fares. Pears can't be blamed for any of the goals conceded last night but his distribution has been consistently poor. All our strikers are out of form so we'll see who starts in this one. And as someone else pointed out, Travis was at fault for not closing down Manhoef for the first goal so would like for him to get dropped as well.

                             Toth

             Batth   Hyam  Pickering

Brittain     Buckley  Tronstad    Beck (if fit)

                          Cantwell

                   Ohashi     Gueye

Don't expect Gueye to score anytime soon but maybe he'll attract some markers due to his height, leaving more space for Cantwell and Ohashi to operate in. Scary how the squad is so devoid of any pace though: can't really press high up the pitch with slow defenders and can't have swift counter-attacks without any good runners.

We forget how well Stokes goalkeeper performed, to keep us out. We just need to start hitting the back of the net again.

Nobody has forgotten that. In fact, it’s been mentioned numerous times, to the point of people suggesting we should have signed him.
