I was having a right moan about the ball constantly going back to Pears before we scored. Shows what I know I guess

I'm highly confident we have conceded more goals from doing this than we have scored.

Is it really big issue given the amount of time you know about?

It was a game I wanted to go but couldn't go to for a couple of reasons. The change of kick off time wasn't one of those reason.

Cantwell had great chance yesterday, but we dont say anything about that. He also was slow in shooting a couple of times.

Given that he is still injured at the minute and been out a couple of weeks I don't see him being ready for the first 2 games after international break.

Surely Eustace's referenced was in terms of numbers of the squad?

I think Ohashi is a good player who has proven his worth to the team, Eustace and fans. His performance yesterday was good and shows what he brings us.

I wasn't seen post Stoke game for couple of private reasons on here.

No my opinion hasn't changed on Gueye yet. Yes he missed a chance that he should have scored but he was in the right place at the right time.

Yes, its a really big issue.

For away games, it means if you are driving you have to set off at a ridiciluous hour. Or if you get public transport, it can make it difficult or even impossible to travel.

If its at home, it could very well cause issues if kids play morning/dinner time football, they may have to miss games.

There is absolutely no justifiable reason to have 6 or 7 EFL games at half 12 on a Saturday at the same time.

Its a big issue for you and everyone is well aware of your views on the subject.

You know why there is 6 or 7 games on at 12.30 on Saturday. The EFL and its clubs wanted more revenue from TV rights and the only way to achieve this was more games on TV.

Public transport isn't reliable way to travel anywhere on away day, whether its football, work or day outs

Some Rovers fans went the night before and have a night out around Cardiff and stay in a Hotel in the area. I would have done similar had I been attending the game.

799 Rovers fans went and witness a win, good performances and show an early kick off time wasn't a problem, I just wish I could have gone.

Unlike others he can make 12:30s at Ewood no problem, and as he’s not the one setting off to the away ones at half 5 in the morning but instead gets to watch them through his beloved Sky subscription, then this TV deal is great from where he’s sitting.

Like I said Matty, This game was one I had earmarked to attend and go down on the Friday night, stay over and night around Cardiff but sadly other reasons meant that plan was cancelled and I couldn't attend. Would I still attend if it been at 3pm kick off game, no I wouldn't have done.

I’m talking generally, you obviously think this new deal is great (and I mean, you personally, not the EFL or the clubs)

Yes

I think its good deal for fans cos not everyone can attend many away games as we would all like.

I’m not a hypocrite I enjoy watching these extra away games hours away, but I think of more than just me, will this be a good thing for match going fans and attendances long term?

The proof will be in the pudding in two/three years time when and if ST numbers and ergo gates generally have declined across the patch.

6 or 7 dinner time games at the same time felt like a step too far. Surely the viewing figures on the additional games are very small, predominantly just fans of the teams in question.

Theres no question that it is an inconvenience for many. Public transport being unreliable at times doesnt mean that people wont use it, but wont be able to with these early kick offs. Driving/getting a coach means regular silly set off times to make kick off.

Winning and playing well doesnt offset that inconvenience. It makes it worthwhile for those who did go at silly o clock, but im sure they would have preferrered to set off at a more reasonable time and would perhaps have been joined by more fans.

That's why I mentioned before about clubs dropping the prices for fans considering the Sky TV deal with the EFL.

I would much rather go to games than watch on TV but sadly not possible for myself.

we see what attendances in the next couple of years and see what they are like but haven't they gone up this season compare to last year

all depends what the games are. If Rovers were playing at 3pm and our next opponent was playing at 12.30 I would watch the first half before setting off to Ewood.

Given the problems of traffic accidents on motorways and the amount of roadworks on the motorway during the night(after 8pm-10pm) upgrading the roads and surrounding areas an early kick off would help this.

Is 6.30am silly set off time either. Cos I don't agree there. If I had been travelling down to Cardiff on the day for 3pm kick off I would set off around 7am anyway and get some breakfast on the way plus a stop at service station for toilet break and stretch of the legs given its around 4 hours drive

The clash with the kids' footy is undoubtedly awkward.

Grandkids to be more accurate.

In spite of me being a critic of Pepball - every time you make a pass the opposing players all have decisions to make, every one, no matter how far the ball is away. Most of the time they get the decisions right and nothing happens. But occasionally one of the opposition nods off, doesn’t make the correct decision, and there’s your chance.

It's definitely a good way of playing but it's not the only way and unless you're equipped with the best players in the world you can't play that way all the time.

Besides it's not really a new thing, at the very least the Dutch were playing that style in the 70s, I'm sure some of the older lads on here will remember way before then. Pep and Barcelona just refined the style after it was brought in to the club by Cruyff.

Like most things, there's a time and place for it.

I’m talking about the game in general where crowds are at highs not seen at this level since the 1950s, this club on the other hand has missed out on the boom (and we all know why) so there’s nothing to crow about with a few hundred extra turning up over a couple of years ago.

So it will be interesting to what happens across the EFL with this saturated level of TV (including here as we sit on our mighty 4,000 adult ST holders, I’d say we can’t fall much further but we always can under these owners and the clowns they employ).

my point was about across the EFL clubs seeing an increase in attendances and STH.

on us, not a massive increase as we would all like across the Adult STH. I dont think we help ourselves when we release them last season. It's need to release March time and I think we should lower them to £299 but I expect the same prices has this season

On early / late kickoffs surely it would be better just to repeal the 3pm blackout and show the 3pm games rather than dick about with many concurrent games at the daft kick off times.

I was always dead set against this,  but I think they will have to , ironically to save the match going fan (season ticket holders in particular) and get back to 3pm on a Saturday more regularly .

Stop whining Matty and be grateful to our glorious and honourable owners for without them there wouldn't even be a club for you to support.

Me too but keepers now have to be playmakers and that won’t change. It’s a big part of their game and will have an effect on their saleability.

I can’t help feeling that this is the end game that Sky are hoping for - generally piss teams and fans off as much as possible over 3 years and watch the opposition to repealing the 3pm blackout just fade away (and then whack a huge price tag onto the subscription for watching your club’s games from the comfort of your own home)

And it only raised a bit more, partly offset by loss of ticket revenue, and the extra money will quite quickly get sucked up by player wages and agent fees.

It's a plaster. Football finances need surgery.

It also inconveniences many fans quite a lot despite your protestations, and sets a precedent that we may never escape from, which could lead to many more half empty stadiums, killing the live spectacle of football.

If they're going to televise so many games they might as well get rid of the 3pm blackout rules.

Yes it small rise.

What surgery would you recommend to Football finances?

Arent attendances up this season despite this TV deal?

Dazn sports offered to televised every EFL game every weekend. The EFL rejected it

I know, as obviously ST sales were pretty much concluded across the EFL before games were getting underway under this new deal, which is why I said..

‘EFL crowds are at record levels not seen since the 1950s’

… and
