Seems the death spiral has started a couple of months earlier this season; can't see us taking anything from any of the upcoming few games, if I'm completely honest.

We need a different approach or we'll continue to see the same results.

I didn't get carried away with our above average start. Some of which was fortuitous.

I'm not getting carried away with our recent poor form. Some of which has been a tad unlucky.

But we simply can't continue like this and if we dont change anything, then nothing will change.

We have one of the worst forward lines I can ever remember at the club. And midfielders and wingers that don't score either.

Therefore clean sheets become even more essential. I'd be tempted to go even more defensive in this fixture, five at the back. play for a 0-0, try and nick a goal from a corner or set piece. Celebrate a draw.

I can't think of a viable alternative away from home with zero pace in the team. And ineffective strikers.

cardiff 0 0 rovers (0 1 RTID)

Think we can nick the crown jewels, let's hope we can nick this one,but I'm not putting money on it at the moment.

I don't know what other approach we can do.

For me we took the right approach against Stoke, we were attacking and created a lot of goal chances. The only changes I'd make would be to go two up front and leave two on the halfway line at corners, just basic football tactics you know.

We've been failing because our squad is shit. It was a shit squad when Mowbray was here and it's just got weaker and weaker year after year. That has all been done 100% deliberately. We've sold all our best players for fuck all or let them leave for free, we have not replaced any of them.

It's no coincidence that the first two people who came here and talked about getting promoted to the Premier League were gone within 18 months after their positions were made completely untenable.

With this squad it does become desperately difficult to keep Brittain and Hedges out the side. I’ve gone with Brittain and pushed JRC on.

I am not too worried yet... Stoke was the first game you would definitely expect us to win on paper which we lost, and we played well. Losses in our recent away games and Sheffield Utd at home were not surprising.

If we continue in classic Championship fashion and pick up a couple of wins in November all will be broadly as expected. If we go through November with no wins then I'll start getting really concerned.

Just need someone to start scoring...

If a loss at Plymouth is "not surprising", losing what away game would you class as surprising?

Cardiff are pretty naff too so I expect at least a point. New manager bounce won't last forever for them. Their squad isn't any better than ours, and given Cardiff will see it as winnable I reckon that suits our sit back and grind out a win "plan".

Four points from a possible eighteen tells its own story and is indicative of where we are right now. The early season form and the confidence gained from that has gone and the only way to rebuild it is by winning. Despite the platitudes we got on Wednesday for playing well and creating chances the fact is we lost a game we shouldn't have. Around this time last year we were playing some really good stuff and in several games we were desperately unlucky to lose but losing became a habit and we never really recovered from that confidence sapping run of results. Eustace has to recognise these signs and set us up accordingly. In my opinion we have the players who can nick us a goal so for me he has to set up to counter like we did towards the end of last season. The inane passing from keeper to centre halves and full backs is too risky so we need to be prepared to play the big diagonal balls and over the top as Cardiff usually play a high defensive line. The first goal will be crucial and us getting it would at least give us something to defend.

The coaches are leaving Accrington at 5 am tomorrow and Ewood at 5.30 am. And adults are being charged £42 for the privilege with concessions a whopping £1.50 cheaper. This is our third consecutive Saturday match with a 12.30 kick off. I wouldn't mind so much if the extra income from this was going into the club infrastructure and improving facilities for the fans but I know it isn't.

Thanks Waggott and Sky.

It's the price we pay for people moaning about us playing shit and winning 1 nil 😑

Wouldn't mind a bit of that tomorrow.

I know which camp I am in not just tomorrow but every game.

Extra Sky TV money could have been used:

a) To subsidise cheaper tickets or travel, or both, for fans (think Stoke are still running free away travel, paid for by the club)

b) To improve facilities, infrastructure, pitch, stadium, concourses, PA system, lighting, seating, matchday entertainment, jumbo screen etc.

Doesn't look to me as though any of it has gone into any of these things, instead simply to make life easier for Venkys and then into the back pockets of people like Waggott, agents and players.

Of course when you are 70, counting down to lucrative retirement in Kent, absolutely no interest in the medium to long term health or standing of the club, and have the morals of an alley cat using that extra cash was never going to be on the agenda and has been forgotten about.

Nobody can really question why numbers turning up are dropping quickly. It was always a likely outcome with the new Sky deal and Rovers have done zilch to mitigate that using the cash they got.

How does Dolan get 5 yellow cards ? He hasn’t got a tackle in him.

That was one of the things that stood out when Dyche was running things at the Dingledome. They very rarely lost players because they got on the wrong side of the officials. That was in spite of them being a physical team. Since he’s gone they’re just like every other team in that respect.

I learnt a long while ago that if you lose your place in the team it can take time to get it back. Meanwhile you’re kicking your heels and waiting.
