Not this again, there aren’t thousands of fans across the water waiting for ‘the Venky’s to leave’

Most of the 2010/2012 departees have long gone and won’t be back whoever has the deeds.

The general floating fan will however, come more regularly if there’s a good well priced product to watch… we ain’t got one of those and never will under these owners (so yes all roads do go back to Venky’s in the end).

You're definitely wrong - how many on this board alone refuse to go because of the owners?

If a local consortium / sensible foreign owners bought the club and had a clear plan, fans would return.

It used to be an incredible family club - one the local community could be proud of. It's a shadow of that now - a zombie club that shambles along.

Age and health, will be big factors.

Two different things.

Fans who haven’t been to Ewood for twelve plus years won’t automatically return because this lot have fucked off.

Now if we are lucky enough to attract owners that care, that take the club back to what it was - be that engagement, be that pricing, be that success then of course crowds will rise, but the majority won’t be fellas that knocked it on the head in 2012. On the flip side Venky’s are replaced with more nefarious characters the dial won’t move at all

To be more nefarious characters than the Venkies they’d have to be serving long jail sentences.

You’re right about the state of the club, but wrong about the reasons people no longer go.

If we got new owners that were universally loved but we still finished mid table in the Championship every season, and Season Tickets still remained expensive, nothing much would change on the attendance front.

If we played a play off match at Ewood under Venky’s, or played Liverpool in the 5th round of the FA Cup, the ground would be full (ish)

Same as it ever was.

No doubt they will have to wait until the match referee arrives for any decision to be made. If he’s travelling then the pitch inspection could be later rather than sooner. Not much good for the Pompey fans who will be en route.

Given the referee is southern based he should have travelled up yesterday and be staying locally. He should be available at any time during the morning to carry out an inspection or several inspections. I would even suggest that he stays at Ewood all morning and carries out regular inspections so the club can make announcements. Communication is key here and in the recent past it's an area that has been sadly neglected.

You are assuming that someone at Ewood gives a fuck.

To be fair it’s nothing to do with anyone at Ewood. Match officials and/or police are the ones who pull games. Most other games in Lancashire have announced inspections so you’d think we’ll follow suit

Only Fleetwood by the looks of it, Rochdale too if we're going that far down.

Nothing at North End or Bolton who are a 1230 game.

There just needs to be announcement even if it's just to reassure fans (particularly those travelling long distances) that there are no perceived issues.

It is when the game is called off after a 14:00 inspection, that people get pissed off.

Mate of mine who’s north end said they were due one at 10.30, he could be wrong or heard it on the jungle drums

Its will be normal British weather.

The game will be on

This obviously isn’t normal weather it’s on the extreme end

Hopefully be on, I’m nervously looking out my windows hoping there’s not too much damage in my garden!

They should definitely communicate, but it’s really all about the timing of bad weather.

No doubt the pitch is playable right now, but may not be if it rains heavily for a few more hours.

Looking  at the rain radar there seems to be a definite back edge to the rain, so fingers crossed it clears through well before kick off.

I have got a water feature, where I used to have a lawn.

The match referee is inspecting the pitch at 11 am. By that time most Portsmouth fans will be north of Birmingham.

I don’t know why you say these things, but there’s legit only Burnley that would apply to. Every other one of those clubs, he can’t wait to fleece….

I think they've already said they will get more this season than last time.

Leeds haven't been restricted for years that's why ko time is changed and Sunderland have never ever been restricted so it's an odd assumption.

Think we all know Waggot only restricts anything when he has been forced to his attitude seems to be exactly the opposite, if he could give more he would.

You never know, the conditions might stop us pissing about with the ball in our own box.

I can just see it now,... Pears to Baath, Baath to Hyam, Hyam to... oh fook, it stopped in a pool of water right in front of their striker... FFS!

I'm pretty sure this is today's referee inspecting Ewood. Significantly he has a ball which indicates surface water and how the ball is moving on it.
