Solanke now deemed good enough. Amazing as he clearly wasn't good enough for England when scoring for fun at Bournemouth. Big club bias strikes again!

One of the main reasons I just love watching England fail.

Its Carsley 3rd game in charge and before the last 2 England games he was injured with ankle injury

A few leaders (and a left back) short of success. Put a Roy Keane in the middle to organise and knock down some of the egos and there might be a team. Who knows maybe Carsley could do it from the sidelines but not sure.

Gallagher is being treated as a DM. He looked dreadful there in the Euros - and if I’m not mistaken, his best times at Palace & Chelsea have been as a box-to-box player. Seems wishful thinking is at play.

I think the point is not specific to one manager.

The Solanke call up is fairly immaterial anyway, he probably wont play with Kane and Watkins ahead of him. Im sure we will comfortably beat both poor sides in these glorified friendlies in a very long 2 weeks before we can get back to proper football.

Why is Kyle Walker back in the squad, he will be 36 by the next World Cup.

Wharton fallen right out of favour all of a sudden.

Even Palace fans have admitted he's not been up to the ridiculous standards he set last season - seems he's been carrying a niggle for quite a while. If he can get back to those levels then surely Carsley won't have a choice but to include him.

Is it just me or have we got ten thousand goal scoring midfielders, no left back and Kyle Walker at right back

The lad at Ipswich lief and Lewis hall at Newcastle should have been called up

What exactly are the complaints about the Solanke selection?

He had one good season in the Premier League for Bournemouth. Should he have been selected then? Quite possibly, but it's not surprising that Kane, Watkins, and Toney were selected ahead of him for the Euros (and the buildup to it). With Toney out of the picture it has freed up a spot and he's the natural choice based on form over the last 12 months.

Are people seriously advocating for the idea that he should have been selected when he was scoring goals in the Championship? Was Toney at a big club when he was being picked over Solanke? Watkins?

The fact that those 2 are even in the reckoning shows how light we are in that position

The whole squad is imbalanced as we know. Totaly devoid of any left backs. We have 3 of the very best attacking midfielders but all of them need to play central to get the best of them, just off the striker. 3 into 1 doesnt go.

Lewis hall is a very promising left back and lief Davis has a super left foot

He might be promising but he isnt a regular at Newcastle. And Davis has only just started playing at Premier League level and has huge defensive question marks.

So how do you line up and who plays left back?

I would call either Hall or Davis up.

We need to convert Palmer to an out and out striker... we've got too many attacking mids / number 10s and he is so good he can play anywhere. Want to see him play up alongside Kane and running in behind. We don't want him getting into the same congested number 10 area of the pitch we have Kane, Foden, Bellingham, Grealish etc all looking to get into.
