never been to the riverside stadium, unfortunately can`t make it on wednesday night,i have been to ayresome park and we spent a nice saturday afternoon dodging bits of concrete that the boro fans were throwing at us from the crumbling terrace🙂,of course we did`nt attempt to throw  them back, that would have been stooping to their level😅,that corner away end was right up there with the embankment at bolton and the small bit of the kippax at maine road as the worst for away fans

as for the result,im`e not holding much hope for anything, boro are bang in form and it might be one of those games were we just surrender,a la coventry

The Riverside stadium is the polar opposit of Ayresome park. The Front line, is no more.

Boro have scored 4, 5, 6 in their last three games so we are on for a 7 goal thrashing. If we defend like Oxford, we wuill deserve it too.

We have had a very decent run of results at the Riverside since the turn of the century so here's hoping the absence of talisman Sam (only scores at Boro) Gallagher doesn't cost us.

Nowt like that up there now just the ikea flat pack type stadium that is noisy when they are doing well and like a library when not, just like most modern gaffs.

However they are banging them in so there'll be a big expectant crowd right behind them so time for some classic midweek smash and grab counter attacking.  Grab an early goal and calm them down one thing i always take away from the North East clubs is how quickly they can get frustrated when things aren't going their way.

Shit though it's midweek, first game for us after an International break so we know what that means,  the classic Rovers no show !

Boro  2    Rovers  0

i was only little then,we went in 1992,a drab 0-0 draw and the season after when we were 0-2 up and lost 3-2,kenny never showed emotion on the touchline but you could see he was p*****d off that day🙂,i was as well, not only because the wind was freezing and my then car,a 3.0 capri cost a bloody fortune in petrol getting there, the lads wer`nt to forthcoming for the fuel money either😄

We have a pretty good record straight after the international break in recent times.

Since start of last season we have played 6, won 5 and lost 1.

You are correct that being midweek probably kills this one though!

Hopefully we'll be fairly fresh and can nick a draw.

This is a midweek away game so not much point even showing up. Just give Boro their default 3-0 win and move on to the weekend.

Middlesbrough recently lost 3-0 at home to Coventry, 2-0 to Bristol City, drew 1-1 with Preston and 2-2 with Portsmouth, so I'm not having it that they are some unstoppable juggernaut that Rovers cannot expect a result against.

Having said that as others have rightly pointed out our away record in midweek fixtures is dismal, often finding a way to lose, sometimes heavily, even in games or against teams where we really shouldn't (Coventry a few weeks ago, Birmingham and Cardiff last season).

So how good Middlesbrough are is probably irrelevant, its how poor we are in these games that will determine things.

Been to the Riverside years ago.
Dystopian is the word that springs to mind when describing that place.

Midweek, away. We'll get bummed for sure.

Hmmm that we didn't play at the weekend gives me hope. Should be better rested and very focused on getting a result.

We have a good record against the north east teams IIRC - don't know why but we generally do well against them.  Boro blow hot and cold so I'm hopeful we could get a draw out of this.
