TheRevAshton Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 (edited) Expecting a classic midweek, on the road no-show - we'll play for a draw, but will quickly realise that we need to just heavily focus on damage limitation. A very comfortable 2-0 win for Boro. Edited November 26, 2024 by TheRevAshton 3 Quote

Old Codger Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Boro have the bit between their teeth, and are scoring for fun at the moment, so you'd expect this to be a real challenge to the boys of hot and cold. As in any contest, composure and taking chances will be key to getting anything out of this one, so I'd expect JE to go with as close to the last team selection as he can. I wouldn't be surprised if we come very much unstuck in this one, but then again I wouldn't be surprised either if we were to do well - hence my hot and cold comment above. Difficult to predict, but I think on balance, Boro have the form, momentum and home advantage, whilst Rovers have an intermittent suicide streak. Head Boro 3 Rovers 1 Heart Tees Siders drowning their snow melt sorrows 1 Roving Plunderers 3 Hot Damn, slugs in slow cookers 0 Rusty Rovers 0 match abandoned on 53 minutes due to frogs on the pitch 1 Quote

Penwortham Blue Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 We really are long over due a decent performance and result from a midweek fixture. I am hoping we deliver on both fronts tomorrow but pragmatically, I expect to be disappointed like most mid-week match days. 1 Quote
Blue Greyhound Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 I think we will win tomorrow 1 Quote
WacoRover Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 It’s been so long since we’ve played, all the lads play smart, & don’t concede early, give us a chance at the finish to nick a point. Chaddy & I, 1-1. Quote
Old Codger Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 5-1 to Boro with Rovers capacity for self-destruction tested to the limit and beyond. 1 Quote
CrouchingNunhiddenCucumber Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 A mid week fixture, on telly, against a serious play off contender? We've got no chance. 3-0 Boro 3 Quote
SuperBrfc Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I think tonight's the night Boro's run of goals dries up. They aren't all that, despite recent goals scored making them seem scary. It's not a true reflection of that Boro team, imo. We've got a good record there and I think we might come away with another win. 0-1. Ahead of the game, a blast from the past. Yordi 😊. Quote
norwichblue Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Can’t see us taking anything from this one tbh. I had a little look on their forum and apparently their team and staff have been hit with a nasty virus this week. Hopefully they’re still puking and shitting, and we can grind out a 0-0. Last time I went to The Riverside it was a midweek game in the cup and Paul Dickov found the net in added time, cue limbs. Fingers crossed something like that happens again, but just can’t see it unfortunately. COYB 🔵⚪️🌹 Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I don't think I've ever been to the Riverside when it's not been freezing cold, grim stadium Quote

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 (edited) Would have Kuqi back in a Heartbeat over the Laborius Gueye. Would be Rover the Moon with a draw tonight. Edited November 27, 2024 by SIMON GARNERS 194 2 Quote
Old Codger Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 I guess it is symptomatic of this being a mid-week game with little prospect of a positive result, that we are at less than 2 full pages of anticipatory comment less than 3 hours from kick off...Maybe most folk aren't even aware that there's a game on tonight?? Ruddy part timers 🙂 Here's hoping the Rovers give us all something worthwhile remembering this evening... Fingers and everything else crossed. COYB!! Quote

Mattyblue Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 All relative, imagine the difference a Jason Roberts would make to this team. Quote

We haven’t won 2 games in a row in the league this season, not expecting that to change anytime soon. 3-0 Boro, Pears with a howler for his old boys. 1 Quote

A very comfortable 2-0 win for Boro. Yup, at least 2. And my William Hill bet reflects that confidence. You can usually tell within 15 minutes how these midweek games go... and that's typically because we lose 80% of them over the past dozen years without scoring. Prove me wrong!! Quote
pick32 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 4-0 Doak and Lath to have a field day 1 Quote
Exiled in Toronto Mk2 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 This guy is so conservative in his team selections. The chances of Hedges and Dolan both playing well in the same game are zero. 4 Quote
roversfan99 Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Hedges and Dolan in the same team is always exciting. Boro for all talk of their recent form are actually without their keeper, main 2 midfielders, main creative player in Azaz and also without Burgzorg and Van Den Berg. Quote
