Are you guys playing by different rules in Scandinavia? If you pass forwards and at the moment the pass is played the receiver is beyond the defender that is always offside.

Got to be behind the ball if the player making the pass is ahead of the last defender. Forwards pass or backwards pass is immaterial these days.

Not knocking anyone tonight, great team performance, we're actually looking like a well coached team.

In hindsight, playing Pickering was probably as important a selection as any. He'd a good game against a supposedly brilliant opponent.

Doak was in Harry’s pocket all game.

You just never know how Beck would have done against Doak, if there's history between them and all that.

Got a feeling it might have made Eustace's mind up for him, although Pickering played well enough at Cardiff to warrant keeping his place anyway.

As per the bit I’ve emboldened:

A player is in an offside position if:

  • any part of the head, body or feet is in the opponents’ half (excluding the halfway line) and
  • any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent

^Shocking game for the neutral but a very professional away performance from us which was fairly typical of us under Eustace. Solid and determined at the back but little or no quality in the final third.

That said we did carve out the best of what few chances there were.  Cantwell was terrible first half but was very unlucky with the goal that was ruled out (which must have been marginal at best) and then provided the assist. We need a LOT more of that from him to justify his lofty reputation.

Eustace continues to do really well with a very poor squad imo.

Not sure we will get a better win than that all season, lads put in a shift, would rather it was more free flowing and attacking but hey result is the main thing

We have a pragmatic head coach, which is what we need under these tight arses.

He was offside.

However that was a superb, professional away performance from Rovers. The win in my opinion well deserved. Defensively we were exceptional and every credit to the players and Eustace. On the break we exposed Boro throughout.

Good stuff lads.

Its a good squad, it just lacks pace upfront.

You're missing a bit about when the player playing the ball is beyond the last defender (excluding the GK). 😉

Aaaanywaay. I'm pissed in Pimlico! (Gotta be a song there somewhere) & I've gotta go back on site tomorrow before coming back to god's county. But I have to say, I've picked a bloody good boozer tonight. Pride of Pimlico if you're ever of the misfortune of having to come down to 'the smoke' & are in this area.

Boro cannot feel hard done to by the offside goal as they should have been playing most of the match with 10 men.

The teams largely cancelled each other out, but they were the 'free scoring title challengers' and we were 'punching above our weight Blackburn'

We won

That (as you know) is the importance of the ball part 🤔😁

Hope your hangover isn’t too bad in the morning 😁😁
