I'd have took a point before hand all day so to get 3 was brilliant. Area for improvement for me is some pace in the team. I wouldn't be against Beck starting left midfield with Pickering behind him. Same on the other side with Duberry although I haven't seen much of him to be honest. Got to be signing a pacey speed machine striker in January, either that or I'd be bringing in a sprinting coach or something to get Leonard and Tyjon flying. Same again Saturday. COYB. Can't really knock him lately, his positioning for some shots last night was good. Hiwever there were two instances where I thought it clearly showed our defenders have little confidence in Pears. Two times it should have been keepers ball but the defender chose to clear rather than leave it for Ainsley. Still not fond of him as our #1 but fairs fair he has done better lately, he should stop aiming his kicks for Dolan though some one needs to tell him Dolan is inly 4ft.6. Dolan thiugh? Indo not know what we donwoth this lad, I like him he wirks his socks kff and he tries he just.does not have that vision that good players have. Should have scored and put in Todd before he offside unable to check his run any longer. I don't know that what Dolan lacks is coachable either you have it or you don't. That said he is not as hopeless as some make out but he is just not good enough with his decisions a lot of the time. Big Mac continues to go down hill. Shame cos I was excited about this lad in the beginning I thought he might be the target.man we have missed since Danny Graham moved on but sadly he just looks worse every time out. He is not going to make it at this level, Ohashi might if he can get back in amongst the goals. I would hazard a guess he would have buried Dolans miss. Thought we played some lovely stuff at times in the first half, not tippy tappy with no purpose like JDT (who I loved by the way and was only a Venky Cheque ir two away from taking usback to the Promised land). I have similar fears about Eustace if we are in or near top 6 Venks will move on TC for their gift price and not give JE any money then JE quits and the Rovers merry go round starts again. I am quite intrigued about Saturday, beat Leeds and we have to be taken seriously. Had we not been Ref robbed at Watford we be right in the mix for Auto. So hope we stuff that lot, nasty outfit. He always seems to be in the right position to nick the ball away from an opponent of make an interception which is almost a sixth sense. With 18 months on his contract surely there should be some awareness down there and preliminary discussions should be starting about an extension. Love this guy,.Proper player and would be really missed if he left or god forbid got hurt. Here there and everywhere this lad, hustle, work and technically really good. Yeah! I like him

I actually think he did well when he came on last night, he's a nuisance but hard to judge off him getting a few minutes here and there. He did a great bit of play with a nutmeg on the far touchline.

Dunno about just before the game, but a few days before it I was seeing odds of about 5 or 6 to 1, I forget which, for us to win. I use Oddschecker rather than a specific site, so those were the best odds around.

He reads the game brilliantly and seems to have a sixth sense, when it comes to danger. Like you say, you can’t coach that and I’m struggling to think of another player we have had, anything like him.

Ken was more of the driving forward from midfield style player. More like the role Travis is playing at the moment. He also had a tremendous left foot shot and scored several goals. How about David Batty ? Aaron Mokoena ? Edited November 28, 2024 by Tyrone Shoelaces

Yeah, Ken was a real player. One of my favourites. He had a good engine, could beat people, he was a ferocious tackler and he had that tremendous shot. Plus he was a natural captain. We were doomed when we sold him to Hull. Edited November 28, 2024 by Tyrone Shoelaces

Mattyblue
David Batty was top class in 93/94, alas injury and then the first to leave the post title sinking ship meant we never really saw enough of him

Tronstad isn't fit to lace Batty's boots. Im quite happy for everyone else to have a love in about him but I still can't see anything about him whatsoever. Extremely over-rated. Poor man's Travis. It was one of his slightly better games for the Club against Boro though. Edited November 29, 2024 by RevidgeBlue

Not wanting to have a go at you personally as everyone else seems to be similarly fooled, if he's that good at sniffing out danger and stamping it out, why did we only stay up on the last day of last season and why were we shipping 2-4 goals a game in JDT's last half season. Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted November 29, 2024 Moderation Lead Share Posted November 29, 2024 Players like Tronstadt do the things that you wouldn't notice, but enable other people to play their game. Think a Championship James Milner/Gareth Barry type.
Mattyblue
So that means he’s a poor player? I would say JDT deciding to stop bothering with a midfield and throwing everyone forward every time we had the ball might just have left him a tad exposed in the centre of the park as we hurtled down the league.
