Our contract situation - of pretty much the whole squad - makes a mockery of the accounts.

It’s no doubt all back pats behind the scenes as the Wharton money is going to keep us going for the next year or so, but what then? Even if someone has a breakout season next year it’s likely they’ll go for relative peanuts due to not being adequately protected.

The end is slowly coming unless they do a massive 180 - it’s just a question of when.

Do we really think the end is coming?

Personally I think they will put the minimum money in again to keep the club ticking over and them in control when the transfer income runs out.

i do,we`ve run out of playing assets to sell, the academy is`nt producing (in all honesty, every academy has quiet periods) ,the contract  situation is a farce (we`ve been there before when we let key players leave for nothing) and the chicken murderers ar`nt interested

bet swag retires when the brown stuff is about to be fallen into

I'm increasingly of the view that this is all part of the two stooges doing whatever they can to make their own 'performance' appear healthier to the Indians.

I am convinced that both are tasked and rewarded based on the cuts and savings they make - once glance at the circus they have overseen in the last few years supports that theory - as does the massive pay hike for one (or both) of them in this years' accounts.

It certainly stands out as odd that for a club supposedly without cash, trying to manage on an even keel and cutting costs all over the show that in the space of a year someone has got a 30%+ pay hike for doing the same job.

The fact that when Broughton came along he was able to quickly and effectively sort out recruitment and contracts in little time at all - and the fact that since he was sidelined nobody, not one, has signed new terms, suggests that it is a deliberate policy to run these contracts down.

I am asking myself how this works - get to the start of June - another raft of loans, short terms and contract expiries off the books - the stooges toddle off to the annual summit meeting and get themselves a big old pat on the back for their handling of the finances. Nothing to worry about, we can just get Ismael and Rudy to sign a load of loans, frees, academy lads to bring in.

Pay rise next year sorted!

Sales of Carter, Travis, Hyam, Tronstad and Brittain should net them £10 million+ which in their eyes is another year of losses Venkys don't need to cover. What's not to like?

Achieving this whilst also selling some season tickets and not getting relegated from the Championship could be tough so suspect they will have to try and hit some middle ground.

They can dress most of it up under the guise of Ismael and the new era wanting to put a new fresh stamp on the squad and get players suited to his style of play. Then they will also turn the tables on the players themselves and make them the enemies by suggesting that they are refusing to sign new deals and therefore forcing the club into an impossible position where a sale is the only realistic option.

Of course most of us know that there are no new deals on the table, they have no intention of offering these players improved extended terms because that costs money.

Unfortunately quite a lot of Rovers fans will just accept it and shrug shoulders.

This is the main reason I'm done with it now.

It's so transparent and predictable, anyone with half a brain can see what's happening and what's going to happen.

Then you've got the lemmings saying we should be grateful. Fuck off. Brain dead chumps.

I really don't give a fuck anymore, if the fans are too stupid and bone idle to do something then I don't see why I should waste my time with this.

Imagine 'ard as fook' northerners being completely outdone by a bunch of poshies from Reading. Pathetic and embarrassing.

So nothing to worry about here then.

A couple of players will be signing new deals in the next couple of days according to Waggott.

Happy days.

Travis will be 28 a couple of months into next season - ergo his next contract will be *the* contract in terms of getting ready for retirement in the best possible financial position, as well as thinking about what can he achieve on the pitch.

So why on earth would he stay here on the back of a good season on a personal level, he’s seen that this club is a shambles and knowing the offer he’ll get (when they can be arsed putting one on the table) will in all likelihood be a relative piss take in comparison with what he could command elsewhere?

There’s more chance of seeing me in a Rovers shirt at Ewood next season than Travis, Tronstad, Dolan, Brittain etc

Anyone with an expiring contract or with any value and expiring next year will be out the door.

Only people Waggott will be signing up are those without the hope of something better i.e. not good enough. I look forward to said signings being deemed a great success by the LT comments….

Ribeiro has signed 👍

I think he has been okay. Better than Pickering but due to age lacks the potential of Beck. See him more as a full-back than a wing-back but at least we have a body guaranteed for next season.

Ribeiro started with a couple of really good performances but since has fallen to the same level as the rest of his struggling team mates and has been unremarkable. Still, with him and Pickering we have 2 solid enough options going forward.

As has been pointed out. Convenient how it happened off the back of what has gone on and makes a mockery of this idea that we have gone nearly 18 months without renewing any deals "because we dont know what league we will be in."

A good re-signing, as noted form fallen off a bit from a very bright start, but good competition for Pickering at LB and a solid championship player. But this was the easy deal to do, don't imagine his wages will be that high having been in Poland and Portugal before us.

Travis, Brittain, Tronstad are the ones we desperately need to tie down and just won't because they want and deserve a salary above 10k, which I am sure has been rumoured at times as our desire top wage bracket.

Boom - yet another piece of "significant investment". We, the great unwashed, are so very fortunate.

Glad he has signed, I think he is a decent player. We need much more than this just to 'stay still'. And staying still will actually mean continuing to drop down the league, of course.

When Ribeiro played the first time, it was immediately obvious that the 6 month deal he had been given was a joke.

Now the club are rolling out this extension, which merely gives him the contract length he should have been given in the first place, to try to alleviate the pressure they've been under. But it's merely a correction of one of their own fuckups.

I'd be very surprised if, after proving he is a capable Championship LB, he hasn't received a pay rise too, so this is probably costing us more than the same contract length would have in January. But it's an easy way for our terrible trio to get a bit of positive PR to keep their jobs, so I'm sure the budget can stretch.

The three wise monkeys will expect this to quell the protests tomorrow evening 😂
