Eustace has up to this point done a good job of covering up the shambles behind the scenes when put in front of the media.

You can see cracks starting to form during and after this transfer window though. He is clearly pissed off like we are and must be tempted by the next job offer to come his way.

JDT was in a totally different place to where Eustace is. JDT has already got as much money as he could ever need, is still a legend in the game due to his massive successes as a player and with him being so multi lingual he's always going to have more avenues of opportunity. Because of this, when he'd had enough of dealing with these complete and utter fuckwits he didn't give a fuck and spent half a season taking the piss out of them before just bluntly calling them out.

JE is nowhere near as well known, won't have the same finances and hasn't the language skills so he's having to bite his tongue a lot more. As you say, you can see the cracks appearing. I wouldn't be surprised at all for him to jump at the first opportunity to get out of here. Maybe he should take some Spanish or German classes to open up his options.

I know you didn't mention JDT, I was just observing that both have been lied to repeatedly within the space of a year.

You would think his agent will be putting his hat in the ring at Derby.

I would be amazed if he is still here come the last game of the season.

That would depend on him getting another job, I reckon.

I don't think he'll make himself unemployed, but we shall see...........

TBF we could start a team and it would be more tempting than Rovers.

He'll be off to the first team that pays the compensation.

Have no money at all. Out of the frying pan and all that.

Working at a skint club is one thing, but working at a skint club owned by Venkys and run by Waggott is another.

I'd imagine that Derby is a vast improvement on Rovers in terms of getting business done, planning, organisation, ambition even if they're hard up. Their owner is a local supporter who goes to games and wants them to get better, they get 20,000+ a week turning up and are much closer to home for Eustace and his team.

We saw last year with JDT that a spell unemployed was preferable for him than continuing to work for these shysters. Now obviously JDT could afford to be unemployed and walk away from the job whereas Eustace probably can't but it tells me just how unpleasant it must be having to work for the scum who own and run Rovers these days.

RE the bold bit

I am sure he would have left even if he didn't already have a job lined up, but he had already been approached by Sweden.  He was technically "out of work" for a couple of weeks

We will know the answer to the contract situation for the players in the next 48 hours.

That isn't to say performances will be dropping off if Eustace leaves as they will all be playing for the agent showreels.

If your Waggot, and you know you are retiring this summer or possibly next, why do you care who is contracted for 26/27 ?

Especially as increasing wages on new contracts now might affect this years financial performance and therefore make you look 'not as good' in the eyes of the owners.

Where's the motivation to give a shit?

Why would he care if he looks good in the eyes of the owners if he was retiring soon anyway?

Cos he gets a bonus on reducing losses / savings?

The contract issue, the longer it goes on, is a huge concern. Our manager has left at least partly because of it and if we aren't securing our decent players, coupled with no funds to buy, where do we end up?

No first team players are currently contracted past summer 2027.

Pickering, Gueye and Ohashi have options until 2028.

A bit concerning isn't it?

Yes and no.

Most of them are mediocre.

I'm sure a lot of them will re-sign, but it was one of the things that Broughton actually managed to fix.

I still keep seeing comments on Facebook and Twitter with people asking why Dolan hasn't signed his contract and where does he expect to go if he leaves here.

Not a single first team player has signed new terms in almost 18 months now. It is unheard of and unprecedented. I'm sure even a club in administration would renew some deals so to protect the value of assets.

This tells me that whatever 'deal' we have offered Dolan is abysmal, and probably doesn't even exist.

And yet still messed up again within a year of his departure

Its like those in charge are attempting to speed run Rovers' demise
