I may be missing something or someone obvious, but would this be the most times Rovers have played an opponent but only ever at two venues?

No, I think you're a long way out, mainly as we only played Leeds first in 1924.

I've spent the last 30 minutes looking at this and it looks to me like the answer, somewhat surprisingly, is Liverpool - 158 games. The team we have played most is I think Aston Villa at 174 times, but they haven't always been at Villa Park.

Was that in that 1 season under Allardyce?

I think Beck will start, allowing us to defend as a back 5 with Trav and Sonny sat in front. Designed to frustrate Leeds.

The front three are a personal choice. My gut feeling is that he’ll play Hedges as he seems almost ‘undroppable’ under JE. But I feel it’s time to give our two strikers a chance to play as a pair. They have the obvious big man, little man vibes, along with the fact that Yuki seems to like dropping deep and linking play whilst Mak is the epitome of a target man. Both are looking for some form and a goal, and so why not change it up, let them combine for once with TC in behind and Beck and Brittain creating the width and plenty of crosses into the box.

                        Pears

          Hyam.   Batth.  Pickering
Brittain.                                       Beck
                    Travis.   Sonny

                       Cantwell.
               Ohashi       Gueye

Subs - Hilton, JRC, Mcfadz, Hedges, Buckley, Baker, Dolan, ACD, Leonard

Rovers 2-1 Leeds - A resolute performance with goals from both strikers, who finally find their scoring boots, TOGETHER!

Rovers 2-1. Ohashi to score on 12 mins. Header.

Leeds to score in the 78 minutes. Free kick.

Rovers to score in the 89 minute with Batth scoring.

Rovers held on for 9 minutes in injury time

If there's one thing that Rovers generally don't do, it's last minute winners.

Only one since we have returned post covid, and none in injury time.

I’d like to see that team given a go. I think it plays to our strengths. Somehow I think it’ll be business as usual though.

Pretending it's something to do with police.

Looks like it is - just seen an article on a Leeds website reproducing a statement from the Police stating that they intervened and "requested" a 1.30 p.m. kick off to reduce alcohol related anti social behaviour etc. In fact they even requested a 12.00 noon kick off but Leeds pushed back against that.

What a bloody joke. Talk about the tail wagging the dog. At least Leeds had the backbone to stand up to them

Important goals at the death very rarely seem to come our way. The last one I can readily remember is Lenihan away at Forest although Sammy’s goals at Leeds and Leicester were both after the 80+ minutes and made sure we stayed in this division.

I thought that was what the police were there for.

Today is a free hit in many ways, against one of the big spending big ambition big pike of nothing sides in the division. With confidence running higher following our recent upturn in form, I expect the lads to be up for this, and to give it a go. The arrogance of this lot dies stick in the craw somewhat, so it would be great if we could show an ability to compete, although we don't have the resources to match their strength in depth.

Let's hope for a good showing by the Rovers, but let's also not get too despondent if it doesn't go our way . It is an ideal game for Cantwell to shine, Travis to show us his eye for a pass, and Yuki to rediscover his scoring  boots.

Come On You Blues!

There is that phrase again 'free hit'  no such thing should exist.

It's a home game there is everything to play for and it's called points, we need them just as much or even more so than they do.
