Two spring to mind, Palmer and there was a winger when Bowyer was here (whose name escapes me) who like Duberry never saw the light of day.

Back in the day I used to bang on about our opponents constantly having free shots at our goal from around our  “ D” . It doesn’t happen now and I think I know why. Could it be that little guy wearing No 6?

Only seen it live, but looked like Ohashi probably should have scored, and Beck should definitely have buried the rebound.

modua  barrow,played a couple of games and swansea recalled him

have no idea about duberry,apart from 20 minutes at preston,where he looked short of match fitness we have no idea if he`s any good or not,don`t think brighton will recall him,they`ve got  a big squad and they`ll figure he might as well stay here

Just got back from the pub. What a great day to be a Rovers fan. As long as we can out enthuse opponents I’ll be happy. We out enthused a better team today. That’s what got us the three points - desire and will to win. I’ll give them all an 8, nobody got carried and every player contributed at some point. Eustace has  made us hard to beat and hard to play against. All the spaces are filled and there are hardly any gaps to be exploited . The back 4-5 were great especially the centre halves.

We should have scored more than 1 to be honest. If I could have picked one player to be on the end of the Cantwell chance it would have been Cantwell. Shame he put it wide. Having said that he put a great penalty away. They don’t stop the ones that hit the side netting even if they guess right.

They had a couple, but created by us. Pears/Tronstad and the sloppy backpass from Batth.

Great game, more of the same from Boro and we look really solid defensively at the moment. A little worrying that Gueye seems totally lost and looking likely that we'll take a loss on him come the summer. 

Hope we bring in a striker and a quick winger who can compete for starts and also be an impact sub.

Palmer was recalled during the January window.

Barrow (thanks @simongarnerisgod) was recalled outside the window so presumably the rules have been changed since then.

Perhaps big Mac needs dropping to the U21s to see if he can regain his game.

Can't be anything other than happy with these results this week, and good to see a grit and determination that has been lacking for many years.

I was surprised to hear Eustace pretty much say we didn't have a nominated penalty taker. When it appeared that three or four players were squabbling over who is taking the penalty I thought it was a ploy to keep Meslier guessing. Eustace confirmed he doesn't mind who takes them as long As they score.

I've not been on here in a while numerous things have gotten in the way of late. 

But I just want to say that I think this is the best team we've had for a long time in terms of fight, spirit & togetherness. Everyone has each other's back, the camaraderie is there to see. 

What a special mmanager Eustace is, he's getting the best out of bargain basement signings, players unwanted elsewhere, journeymem loanees & academy graduates.

Dolan was immense today, I know he is frustrating but he has something different to most other players, and he us still only v young.

Eustace pulled off a masterstroke with Cantwell, he's getting better every match, the way he shields the balls & works in tight spaces is awesome.

Pears has really shown some grit too, aside from some dodgy kicking today he is proving himself to be as good now as Kaminski was imo.

And Travis, well, just wow. He's turned into a proper leader, by example & on attitude. He must be an absolute bugger to play against, & the way he dealt with Dolan re the dispute over the penalty (both during the dispute & after it had been scored) was so mature.

I am really starting to love this team. It's not perfect & there are weak links, but I absolutely trust Eustace to sort these out if given time.

The acid test might be whether we can sustain these levels across the season as that tends to be the issue. Eustace like Tomasson and Mowbray before has started the season well but its whether an underfunded squad can maintain it across 46 games.

He is definitely the type of manager that is the right one for the situation we are in. He comes across as fairly mundane and his teams certainly dont play exciting thrill a minute football but the way he has the team organised and structured is really proving to be effective despite a lack of firepower. It feels like he is dripping them for everything they have got. There were question marks last season because he didnt win barely at all especially at home, but we are able to now.

I dont think that Pears is anywhere Kaminski levels, Kaminski used to save us points and save things you wouldnt necessarily expect him too. Pears doesnt, take today (ignoring his wayward kicking and first half mistake) the saves he made were routine, same with the catches, youd expect him to make them. That has pretty much been the case all season, aided by being afforded far better protection. The difference comes in the goals he has conceded, last season there were so many that he let in that he simply shouldnt have done. This season, there have been maybe 1 or 2 that I can remember, very occasional mistakes. This may sound critical or at best a back handed compliment, but to go from regularly chucking in goals he should routinely save to now saving shots he should and letting in ones that he wouldnt be expected to save is an improvement I wasnt expecting, so fair play to him.

The comment highlighted above conjures up......well...............There's a scene in the first Equalizer with Denzel Washington & David Harbour, where Denzel's character pulls a gun on a bunch of Russian mobsters...........see Harbour's reaction for my response to this.

Yeah, Pears has benefitted from a more structured and well-drilled defence this season, but he's nowhere near Kaminski levels.

TK was a superb GK for this level (and a good one at Prem level, in fairness).

You could just say Pears is doing fine, which he is.

Pears is a major part of our seven man defence and deserves far more than the begrudging credit afforded him on here.

Time to stop harping on about previous errors. Most keepers would struggle playing under a suicidal JDT and a defence lacking structure and confidence.

The point was that he is currently making the saves youd expect him to make, without being like Kaminski and making outstanding saves he has no right to save. And crediting him from going from a keeper who was making mistake after mistake last season (many of which cant just be fobbed off as down to us being open and less not as hard to play against, some where under Eustace) to one who is no longer making repeated unforced errors. Thats praise as its a considerable improvement and doesnt have any negative connotations.
