I enjoy going to Stanley but I wouldn't to at the expense of missing a Rovers match. I have seen them three or four times this season mainly on international breaks. I would like to watch them at Anfield so hopefully our game at Boro and their game are played on different days. Quote
Mattyblue Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 My Facebook alone has at least four Stanley 'fans' on it that I know used to be rovers regulars. The Anfield Road End will be full of such folk in January, Quote
JHRover Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 No problem at all if that's an addition to going Rovers. But I'm sure there will be plenty of Rovers folk who will decline going to Middlesbrough yet will rush to Anfield to watch that instead. Very odd mentality in my opinion. Quote

Hasta Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 I work with a Stanley fan who has attended Ewood with me for some of the League / FA Cup games in the past. (Generally a football fan who saw the appeal of cheap tickets against a good club) If it had been at the Crown Ground I'd have probably gone with him to this with Rovers being away. But I CBA travelling to Liverpool. Quote

For a Championship level club it's not even beyond the scope of realism. Hell a league 2 club reached a domestic final not too long ago. Not to mention for some clubs it may be their only real chance of a honour or the only thing they will win (besides a lower league title, promotion or competitions for lower league clubs) in living memory. Of course because of Jack Walker (who was unfit in the eyes of that idiot who owns Accrington) that isn't the case for many people on here. Edited December 4, 2024 by Vinjay Quote

I want to win it. I don't see playing the likes of the red scum or Arsenal as a glamour tie. We played these teams twice a year at least until the venkys virus infestation happened so yes, it is small time. The United game was more a case of banter with a few work colleagues if we had played. Spurs away would be great as it's one stadium I would like to visit 9 hours ago, MarkBRFC said: https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/december/06/boro-cup-clash-confirmed-/ Saturday at 12 noon. I wouldn't have mind Salford away or Harrogate. Not sure if all 4 or 5 of us would have got a ticket at Salford or Harrogate away. A PL ground away, most likely Quote
Mattyblue Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Banter with plastic Man Utd fans? I wouldn’t engage them in conversation about football. 1 Quote
Michael123458 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Had to change fucking train times this morning because of kick off time change. The times and dates for teams is an absolute joke. Things you do for rovers. Love the fa cup I’m a traditionalist and with no replays may get more than you bargained for 1 Quote

Love the fa cup I’m a traditionalist and with no replays may get more than you bargained for I absolutely agree but really we have got off quite lightly. There are three games to be played on Thursday 9th with Sheffield United v Cardiff and Everton v Peterborough included in them. The FA are supposed to be the guardians of the game in this country but have sold their souls to the devil for money. And that wouldn't be so bad if some of that money filtered down to grass roots football but I see no evidence of that. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/32170042/fa-cup-third-round-schedule-thursday/ Edited December 7, 2024 by arbitro 3 Quote
Mattyblue Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 22 matches out of 32 kicking off at all manners of days and times that isn’t Saturday 3pm. ‘The magic of third round day’ indeed. Quote
Hasta Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 (edited) https://www.theposh.com/news/club-disappointed-scheduling-fa-cup-third-round-tie Peterborough statement on their big trip to Goodison being moved to Thursday night. Edited December 7, 2024 by Hasta 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Sheffield United v Cardiff has been selected by BBC Wales and whilst Everton v Peterborough will be shown on the BBC I player. Why couldn't both games been played on Sunday instead. I think some of the games picked by BBC and ITV are strange and they have struggled to pick their tv games cos the lack of potential shocks. DeeCee Posted January 9 Posted January 9 As a matter of interest, does anyone know Stanley's allocation at Pool and how many they've sold? Thanks. Quote

Looking at the Stanley site, their away allocation sold out in mid December. Can’t see how many they were allocated but the away section at Anfield ‘typically’ holds 3k. Can’t see that they asked for any more and I think it would have been unlikely for them to shift the whole of the lower tier. So, presumably 3k. 2 Quote
