The way of playing Eustace has found really seems to be getting the best out of all the defenders. Pears, Baath, Hyam, Britain, Pickering who have all had their detectors have been fantastic.

What's even more impressive is going forward we have looked good too...

I can't really put my finger on what it is precisely but its something around defending in numbers but pushing out very quickly so you dont get penned in. It seems to be working really well.

To go to Hull in December, play the game in literally gale force winds - well we were never going to play attractive football. It was all about stopping Hull and grinding it out for the whole 90.  Every credit to the lads they apparently did just that. What more could we have asked? 
 

This is a superb run we’re on. In the circumstances that the manager has had to work with this season, he’s doing brilliantly. So are the players. That’s it in a nutshell for me.

You’re absolutely right, but I can’t help but get a twitchy bum every time the ball is in vicinity. He might be keeping the ball out, but he still looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Hopefully he’s turned a corner and I’ll be the first to sing his praises 🙂

There's no doubt that the whole squad has bought into the work ethic needed, hats off to Eustace for that one. Obviously the results help, but he's also managing to bring the fans along with him and the team.

It is difficult to pinpoint, but although it's like we play with a defensive 6 plus Pears, the front 4 don't half put a shift in. We're defending all over the pitch, not just at the back.

What utter rubbish. How is a sentence on a messageboard at the end of a post praising the manager and some players "bringing the team down?"

Gueye is not good enough. If I start vocalising my opinion at games then fair enough, you might have a point. But he as with all the players continues to be backed in the ground, this is a messageboard where people share their opinions and they dont have to all be positive.

I think the point some posters further up the thread have been making is that he has turned a corner.

The conditions made it even more a case of just grinding a win out regardless of how you do it and it was again built on brilliant organisation off the ball which meant that a very poor Hull side struggled to create any meaningful chances.

We dont have anywhere enough goal threat and a front 3 of Hedges, Dolan and Ohashi will be right at the bottom of the league in terms of quality. Eustace is getting the team to produce more than the sum of its parts but he needs help with reinforcements in January which I fear he may be frustrated on because the foundations are in place.

To be honest a lot of it is me wanting him to be better, loved his first few appearances and up to the Suspension. His brand of chaos made me smile.

He’s not as good as I want him to be and isn’t showing enough but also genuinely don’t think he’s as bad as some of the criticism

We are in this position due to everybody absolutely putting all their effort into every game and by the looks of it training, also doing all that the manager asks of them. I will never ask for more than that.

The concern is always when we have to play multiple games in a week. We're a team that gives 100% effort each match. It'll be interesting to see what happens against Sheffield Wednesday with only a few days rest.

We signed him when, in reality, the leap from the level he was playing at was too great. That doesn't mean he's a write-off. He has a lot to learn but he's young and keen so I think we just have to be patient with him and see.

However that's no excuse for not signing the striker we desperately needed at the time and surely we must do something in January?

Thats fair, I expect they will give their all, but at probably 75% of their physical capabilities. The manager/players are starved of help, I appreciate their efforts.

The owners are the problem for the lack of support but that is not for tonight after 4 straight wins.

Eustace is working miracles considering the lack of support given to him by the owners. Fair play. I can't imagine many, if any, other managers could have gotten more at this stage out of the current squad. 

I like that his focus is, clearly, on building from the back. Granted he basically has no choice, considering our options up top, but nonetheless - if you've got a solid defence you don't need a 25 goal a season striker. Have to admit I didn't think the current backline could maintain form like this, but good on them. They're obviously buying into what Eustace is doing and that's great for them and for us.

Unfortunately Barry Bannan was also suspended for Wednesday today and will be back for the next game.

He is their best player and the one who makes them tick, could have done with him being unavailable

He just unfortunately is clearly nowhere the level required. I would love him to suddenly turn into a Championship standard striker but he would have to show something that has been sorely lacking so far. I cant see where his first league goal will come from and his clumsiness hinders us beyond that.
