Boroblue
Again what a professional performance. It’s not beautiful but it’s organised. If the opposition gets through the line there Is always somebody there to get in a block or a tackle. We don’t need to score a lot if we don’t concede a lot. We looked composed without looking threatening. Creative comes at a cost which is money we haven’t got organisation in a poor league is free and effective. Popular Post arbitro
It wasn't until we came out of the ground after the game that I realised how tough the conditions were. The wind was fierce, swirling and coupled with heavy rain it gave even more context to be delighted at the win. We have played worse and lost or drawn this season but in the final analysis success can sometimes be defined by days like this. Hull didn't really hurt us and their shots from distance were never going to trouble Pears. Aside from the free kick and a couple of blocked shots I wasn't really worried. Perhaps a big part of that belief is how we are defending right now. We look solid and exceptionally well organised right now and that pleases me so much. I didn't think we had any outstanding performers today but the majority of players would get a 7/10 from me. How pleasing too to see Lewis Travis celebrity the players after the match. No Christmas shopping for him, he wanted to support his teammates. I see Eustace talking about team spirit so often but the fact Travis was at Hull today gives me the distinct impression Eustace has built this in his time here. Whilst team spirit won't necessarily win games for it can go a long way to contributing to a win.

Popular Post LDRover
Having been at the KCOM this afternoon I cannot downplay how bad those conditions were today, it was genuinely horrendous. So, with that in mind, to pull up the quality of football today is churlish in the extreme. Having said that, the play leading up to the goal was as good a quality as any build up this season - you really cannot underestimate that level of play in those conditions. It certainly wasn't easy on the eye but the commitment to the cause of all these lads lately is incredible. A couple of performances to note, firstly Pears. A couple of crucial saves in the first half got us in ahead and I never felt they were scoring past him today. Baker was steady and complemented Tronstad perfectly. He filled the gaps, made tackles in key areas and on the one occasion he got forward was unlucky to see his shot blocked. Ohashi may have fluffed his chance in the 2nd half but by Christ he grafts. You can't help but take to the lad. Brittain I have been critical of in the past but he is thriving at the minute - long may it continue. Beck will be some player. Quick, tenacious with a nasty streak but such a talent. He relished the battle today. Finally Big Mak. Yes he only had 15 minutes but it would've been easy for him to hide. He didn't, he won a couple of balls into our box and was an outlet for the long balls out late on, showing a decent touch on a couple of occasions. The lad isn't ever going to be good enough, let's be honest but he's wholehearted and knows his role in seeing games out. Finally, the manager. Eustace is working miracles with what he has, I honestly thought we were relegation fodder based on the lack of backing he has had but he seems to relish this challenge. If he gets any backing in January (a striker) we have a real chance this season. Edited December 7, 2024 by LDRover

I hope it’s better than mine (3-0 defeat to Sheff Wed in 1998!) Travis will be a big miss I fear. His partnership with Tronstad has been key these last few games. Personally I don’t think Buckley is good enough, and JRCs last performance against Cardiff nearly cost us 3 points. Will he go Baker??… What a great day! Awful conditions meant it was never going to be a great spectacle, but it’s all about getting the 3 points. Up in to 6th place!! What a job Eustace is doing 👏🏻
