Not based on stats but it feels like one of those places we often struggle but if I recall it was the setting for one of the greatest moments in our (admittedly rotten) recent history……

Hoping for all three points here but its Rovers and Hull haven't won for a while....we might all know what's coming folks!

Hull City, one of THE most dull as Dishwater and low profile Clubs I can think of 😉 (with all due respect)

Yet they managed to get new ownership after years of being owned by a bunch of cunts.

Would still take their shit old owners over what we have here.

If Hull manage to bring in a new manager before this game then I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rovers slip up.

I didn't realise it was so long since Hull last won a game, which makes for another red flag. Also Travis being missing is a big blow.

I'd be content with a draw after such a great week. My concern is if we go 1 nil down, we aren't exactly a free scoring side at the moment.

I'll go for a 1-1 draw. With Ohashi ending his dry spell in front of goal.

My predicted team (providing there are no new injuries this week):

                         Pears

Brittain     Batth        Hyam     Pickering

                Baker      Tronstad

  Dolan           Cantwell            Beck

                       Ohashi

We've had 3 solid wins on the bounce now, against top opposition - we've also looked the part in doing so.

Hull have 7 losses and 3 draws in their last 10 league games, and don't have a manager.

It would be the most Blackburn Rovers thing ever, for us to go and get absolutely b....

You know what, i'm not even gonna say it!

It would be typical of us to get beat here when they have lost 5 in a row. New manager announced before giving them a bounce is also typical of us. It always seems to be Rovers! Cantwell to drop back in CM for Travis and Hedges in.

Cantwell can’t do the job the Travis does, anymore than Travis can do the job the Cantwell does. As for Hedges , he’s a bench filler not a starter.

I remember us going to Rotherham and getting hammered 4-0 in similar circumstances. I hope Eustace has changed our mentality since then. We’ve got to be thinking that this game is going to be just as hard as Middlesbrough away. Games are only easy once you’ve made them easy.

Baker would seem to be the natural replacement for Trav, in terms of style?

I think Baker is more a "number 10" as the kids say these days. Whenever he comes on it seems to be for Cantwell.

I think JRC is probably first in line to play with Tronstad, although he's not been great this season he played a lot with him last season and is more of a box to box player.

I think Eustace see's JRC for Trav, Buckley for Tronstad and Baker for Cantwell when any of those are unavailable.

Hopefully our mentality has changed, but 5 defeats in a row and probably appointing a new manager this week, I've read this script before.

Hull 1 Rovers 0

Hull with 0 wins in their last 10 league matches.

In true Rovers fashion there is only one outcome here unfortunately. (see Coventry 3-0 earlier this season)

Joking aside, in years gone by it feels like a fixture we'd lose after winning two unexpectedly and optimism starting to rise. Hopefully Eustace can buck the trend and continue this mini-run!

Hull haven’t won since the first of Oct 1st, so logic says it’ll be a 3-0 thrashing with us not showing up to play.

You know Rovers well.  Would be just like us to cock this game up.

Under normal circumstances JRC would be the usual replacement for Travis. However he’s been really poor this season. It’s really galling that Travis got that booking for such a stupid act. So we are left with an out of form JRC, Buckley, who has hardly played this season, or Baker who is more attack minded and less of a defensive player.

Yeah, I thought Baker was more of an attacking mid….I think Buckley will get the nod. I’m looking forward to him trotting round and playing flamboyant 5 yards sideways passes😉

Yeah I'd go for Buckley. On his day Buckley can be very good on and off the ball, likes a tackle - thinking of the Newcastle FA Cup game back in February. Would suit pretty much exactly the same role as Travis getting box to box down the right. Feels like Baker is a different sort of player - though not really seen enough of him to be sure.

Just need Buckley to be the best version of himself, not the sloppy disinterested character who has appeared often in recent seasons. If not we can hook him for Baker, or even JRC come to think of it.

I think the three player midfield with Cantwell will get the best out of Bucko so hope it works out.

I still can't really work Baker out, but the one thing he clearly isn't a natural at is bringing lots of energy off the ball. Definitely not a like-for-like Travis replacement.

He might still play, but I'd be tempted to give JRC a go. As @Tyrone Shoelaces says, he's in stinking form, but there's less pressure on his mistakes leading directly to chances than when he's in the back four, he's the one who is most similar to Travis, and it might even be a chance for him to see a lot of the ball and play himself into some form.

This is the sort of fixture which screams soft Rovers loss. Even pre-Venkys we used to routinely lose these sorts of games! I'd be pretty happy if we end up with three points after this and Sheff Wednesday. Any more and I'd be over the moon.

JRC looked a really good CM under JDT. He made some really good runs into the box, which would have resulted in him getting simple tap-ins if we’d have been able to cross the ball properly. He’s got a good range of passing too.

No idea what’s going on with him fitness-wise but every time he’s played this seasons he’s looked off the pace.

Theoretically you have Baker, JRC and Buckley on the bench to deputise for Travis. There's no need to move Cantwell.
